Abstract Interest in studying information systems discontinuance has been increasing lately, yet there is no consensus on what it means. To improve the situation, we conduct a comprehensive review of current literature on IS discontinuance and identify 55 studies published during 1991–2017 that specifically focus on the topic. Our conceptual analysis disentangles the process, content, and context of the phenomenon, revealing that over the course of a typical IS lifecycle, IS discontinuance may materialize at least in five distinct forms: rejection, regressive discontinuance, quitting, temporary discontinuance, and replacement. The Good Parent: Southern Italian Mothers’ Conceptualization of Good Parenting and Parent–Child Relationships

Thirty mothers, ranging in age between 30 and 46 years, participated in seven focus groups aimed at analyzing perceptions and ideas of the characteristics of a good parent and parent–child relationship in southern Italy (Sicily). The discussions were transcribed and analyzed using the constant comparative analysis approach. Two major themes, discipline and affection, emerged from the discussions about the idea of a good parent, with seven further subthemes. The purpose of this article is to complement the existing literature on defining the rural by suggesting a novel approach that makes possible a holistic understanding of the rural. The proposed approach is based on deconstruction of the concept of the rural and on hermeneutical philosophy. The current approaches applied in rural studies are evaluated through the lens of holistic understanding, and solutions to the observed problems are discussed. This chapter elaborates professional learning from two complementary perspectives, namely professional identity and agency. Starting with the conceptualization of identity and agency, the chapter illustrates how professional identity and agency are intertwined with workplace learning at the individual and social levels.
