Accumulation and destruction of the trust ? : Popperian inspiration plan
2000
When, following other social sciences, economists address the mechanism of trust, they typically focus on the search of a justification or a foundation for trusting, the implicit starting point of the process they have in mind being zero trust, or distrust. By contrast, the present paper, inspired by the philosophy of Popper, suggests, as a starting point for trust, an individual decision associated with what Popper calls a conjecture - that is, a kind of theory - on how the individual (potentially) trusted "functions". The conjecture requires no justification but only the test of its implications. In turn, the decision to trust or to distrust does not reflect in a mechanical or passive way…
Quelles stratégies pour les musées sur internet ? Entre " click and mortar " et " mortar and click "
2011
Many companies now use the Internet as part of a click & mortar strategy. This strategy is also used in the museum field, but its consequences have not been evaluated yet. A quantitative study carried out on a sample of 388 visitors, at the Bibracte Museum (France), indicates that the quality of an internet website, as well as the satisfaction and trust experienced by Internet users when browsing, have direct positive influence on word-of mouth and the actual museum visit. It seems therefore appropriate to integrate the internet website to the whole management of cultural and artistic activities, without forgetting to take into account the specificities of this particular field.
Survey sampling for functionnal data : building asymptotic confidence bands and considering auxiliary information
2011
When collections of functional data are too large to be exhaustively observed, survey sampling techniques provide an effective way to estimate global quantities such as the population mean function, without being obligated to store all the data. In this thesis, we propose a Horvitz–Thompson estimator of the mean trajectory, and with additional assumptions on the sampling design, we state a functional Central Limit Theorem and deduce asymptotic confidence bands. For a fixed sample size, we show that stratified sampling can greatly improve the estimation compared to simple random sampling. In addition, we extend Neyman’s rule of optimal allocation to the functional context. Taking into accoun…

Fog Computing based traffic Safety for Connected Vulnerable Road Users
2019
Annually, millions of people die and many more sustain non-fatal injuries because of road traffic crashes. Despite multitude of countermeasures, the number of causalities and disabilities owing to traffic accidents are increasing each year causing grinding social, economic, and health problems. Due to their high volume and lack of protective-shells, more than half of road traffic deaths are imputed to vulnerable road users (VRUs): pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists. Mobile devices combined with fog computing can provide feasible solutions to protect VRUs by predicting collusions and warning users of an imminent traffic accident. Mobile devices’ ubiquity and high computational capabilit…

2022
Patient support requires interprofessional collaboration that is complex to implement in hospital organizations. According to the literature, this is closely linked to the emergence of trust. This emergence depends on organizational factors that are only partially identified in the literature, the links established remaining minimal and imprecise. We propose in this qualitative study carried out with 32 agents of the public hospital service to specify and complete these links. In particular, this work opens up new perspectives regarding organizational factors such as connectivity, values, common goals, etc. The identified factors are declined through 2 perspectives directly transposable in …
