Analytical measurements of fission products during a severe nuclear accident

2018

The Fukushima accident emphasized the fact that ways to monitor in real time the evolution of a nuclear reactor during a severe accident remain to be developed. No fission products were monitored during twelve days; only dose rates were measured, which is not sufficient to carry out an online diagnosis of the event. The first measurements were announced with little reliability for low volatile fission products. In order to improve the safety of nuclear plants and minimize the industrial, ecological and health consequences of a severe accident, it is necessary to develop new reliable measurement systems, operating at the earliest and closest to the emission source of fission products. Throug…

Kìnecʹ koncepcìï partnersʹkogo marketingu? Marketing 3.0 či zaklâttâ realʹnostì?

2016

This article provides various marketing concepts and orientation which were aimed at bringing positive and desired social effects for business activities. Nevertheless, in authors view, the theory does not reflect the reality of business practices. Therefore, a number of companies which are making use of aggressive marketing but in fact ignore the consumer needs were presented. This includes, among other things, the following markets: food, electronic one and even pharmaceutical. It seems that this is caused by monopolization process of global economy.

Motivation and Consequences of Internet and Mobile Phone Usage among the Urban Poor in Kampala, Uganda

2015

The Internet and mobile phones are rapidly diffusing throughout communities, and it is important to understand what people are actually doing with their access to these technologies. This study seeks to improve our understanding of the motivational factors and social and economic consequences of such use among the urban poor, which is examined through the Diffusion of Innovations Theory (DoI) and the Capability Approach (CA). The combined theoretical perspective was introduced to explore findings of an explorative case study conducted among the urban poor in Kampala, Uganda, where Internet access was found to be low due to high illiteracy and associated costs. On the other hand, mobile phon…

Agreements regarding the property relations of transnational couples and their effects under the application of the twin regulations

2021

It is a true and verifiable fact that the family institution has evolved over recent decades in Europe and throughout the world, but not uniformly or at the same time. This is because it is influenced by social and cultural connotations specific to each State. All of which are respected under EU Regulations 2016/1103 and 2016/1104. Transition aux normes comptables IAS/IFRS, discipline de marché et adéquation des fonds propres aux risques dans l'industrie bancaire européenne

2011

This study tests the hypothesis that the mandatory IAS/IFRS adoption leads banks to operate with a higher capital buffer, due to a strengthening of the efficacy of market discipline. For a sample of European banks, we find evidence consistent with the formulated hypothesis. The results contribute to extend to banks the flourishing empirical literature dealing with the economic consequences of the IAS/IFRS mandatory adoption and tend to dampen the recent critics expressed against the use of the IAS/IFRS accounting standards in the banking industry.

Psychometric Properties of the “Alcohol Consumption Consequences Evaluation” (ACCE) Scale for Young Spanish University Students

2020

Instruments that evaluate alcohol use consequences among young people do not consider the intensive alcohol consumption pattern that is so characteristic during these ages. Some of these instruments are even ineffective in the Spanish population. Hence the interest in developing an instrument more adapted to the reality of our young people. A total of 601 university students (35.9% male and 64.1% female) from 18 to 20 years old were recruited. All of them answered a total of 77 items obtained from the review of both the scientific literature and the different scales used to measure consequences derived from alcohol consumption. In addition, they completed the AUDIT and the Timeline Followba…
