An order-adaptive compact approximation Taylor method for systems of conservation laws

Abstract We present a new family of high-order shock-capturing finite difference numerical methods for systems of conservation laws. These methods, called Adaptive Compact Approximation Taylor (ACAT) schemes, use centered ( 2 p + 1 ) -point stencils, where p may take values in { 1 , 2 , … , P } according to a new family of smoothness indicators in the stencils. Tra la seconda metà del XIX sec. e l’inizio del XX sec. in Europa si assiste alla progressiva distruzione dei sistemi difensivi delle città, in quanto, oramai, considerati inutili ingombri rispetto ai motivi che li avevano originati. Delle fortificazioni delle città, solamente alcuni elementi furono conservati, come, ad esempio le porte urbiche e alcune torri. In particolare la città di Rodi, in Grecia, fino all’arrivo degli occupanti italiani, nel 1912, possedeva un sistema di fortificazioni formato da mura, bastioni, fossati e terrapieni.
