How Organizational Resources and Managerial Features Affect Business Performance: An Analysis in the Greek Wine Industry

2023

Despite the growing interest of the wine industry in quality and environmental certifications and the influence of these standards on positioning in international markets, scholarly research has paid proportionally limited attention to the link between winery export intensity and the adoption of internationally recognized standards. This study aims to analyze which factors make an organizational model performant, and to verify the impact of the adoption of third-party certifications on the export performance by using the resource-based view (RBV) theory as a theoretical lens. Findings show that younger wineries are more oriented towards the adoption of voluntary quality and environmental ce…

Organy w kościołach diecezji świdnickiej. Budowa nowych instrumentów i działania konserwatorskie w latach 2004-2014

2016

The Diocese of Świdnica has existed since 2004. So far, only one pipe organ has been built in its territory. In 2005 the Wrocław-based Cynar company performed the installation of a 38-voice instrument with an electronic action for the Church of the Elevation of the Holy Cross in Kłodzko. For its construction the company used the organ of a deconsecrated church in Germany, i.e. St. Peter’s Church in Frankfurt am Main. In other newly-built churches electronic instruments have been installed, mainly for financial reasons. Since the diocese was founded 10 years ago, 25 instruments have undergone thorough renovation. An important event was the general renovation of the 50-voice organ in the basi…

Microsurgery and external fixation in orthoplastic reconstruction of tibial injuries.

2019

"Orthoplastics" is a relatively new approach to lower limb reconstruction, where an integration of both plastic and orthopedic expertise is required, together with the availability of well-equipped facilities. Acute shortening and long-term frames for lengthening are generally considered alternatives to length preservation and soft tissue microsurgical reconstruction, but an integration of external fixation and reconstructive microsurgery is gaining an increasing role with refinements of joint approaches.Data on sixteen patients who underwent microsurgical lower limb reconstruction and external fixation with an orthoplastic approach, following acute or chronic tibial injury, were retrospect…

Increasing stability in the linearized inverse Schrödinger potential problem with power type nonlinearities

2022

We consider increasing stability in the inverse Schr\"{o}dinger potential problem with power type nonlinearities at a large wavenumber. Two linearization approaches, with respect to small boundary data and small potential function, are proposed and their performance on the inverse Schr\"{o}dinger potential problem is investigated. It can be observed that higher order linearization for small boundary data can provide an increasing stability for an arbitrary power type nonlinearity term if the wavenumber is chosen large. Meanwhile, linearization with respect to the potential function leads to increasing stability for a quadratic nonlinearity term, which highlights the advantage of nonlinearit…

HDR-ARtiSt: a FPGA-based Smart Camera for High Dynamic Range color video from multiple exposures

2014

International audience; A camera is able to capture only a part of a high dynamic range scene information. The same scene can be fully perceived by the human visual system. This is true especially for real scenes where the difference in light intensity between the dark areas and bright areas is high. The imaging technique which can overcome this problem is called HDR (High Dynamic Range). It produces images from a set of multiple LDR images (Low Dynamic Range), captured with different exposure times. This technique appears as one of the most appropriate and a cheap solution to enhance the dynamic range of captured environments. We developed an FPGA-based smart camera that produces a HDR liv…

Cell Mediated Immune System Hyperactivation and Complications in Surgery. Is There a Correlation?

2010

Introduction: The role of the immune system in wound healing is multifaceted and cell-to-cell interactions may affect healing in several ways, many of which are probably still unknown. The case of a 19-year-old girl who, after multiple postsurgical complications, was found to have a transient immune system hyperactivation is reported. Materials and Methods: A 19-years-old woman with a breast asymmetry, previously treated with breast augmentation and contralateral reduction mammaplasty, had her implant removed and she came to our attention seeking autologous reconstruction. A free DIEP flap was performed and, again, wound breakdown and liponecrosis ensued at both the donor and recipient site…

THE SCENOGRAPHY OF SERPOTTA STUCCOES REVISITED - MATERIAL AND FORM

2015

The material that lies beneath the smooth shining surface of the stuccoes of the Serpotta family who used to work in Sicily from 1670 to 1730, has been thoroughly studied in previous papers, disclosing the deep, albeit empirical, knowledge of materials science that guided the artists in creating their masterpieces. In this work, attention is focused on the solid perspective and on the scenographic sculpture by Giacomo Serpotta, who is acknowledged as the leading exponent of the School. The study deals with some particular works of the artist, the “small-scaled plastic theatres”, so-called “teatrini”, which he made for the San Lorenzo Oratory in Palermo. On the basis of archival documents an…

Surfactant-Mediated Morphology and Photocatalytic Activity of α‑Ag2WO4 Material

2018

In the present work, the morphology (hexagonal rod-like vs cuboid-like) of an α-Ag2WO4 solid-state material is manipulated by a simple controlled-precipitation method, with and without the presence of the anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), respectively, over short reaction times. Characterization techniques, such as X-ray diffraction analysis, Rietveld refinement analysis, Fourier-transform (FT) infrared spectroscopy, FT Raman spectroscopy, UV–vis spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution TEM, selected area electron diffraction, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and photoluminescence emission…

AR to Rediscover Heritage: the Case Study of Salerno Defense System

2022

Recognizing and transmitting the uniqueness and identity of one’s territory represents fundamental step to guarantee its sustainability, protection and valorisation. Of particular importance, moreover, is the issues of the lesser-known heritage of great value but which, unfortunately, in some cases is still little known and often in a state of neglect. However, the diffusion of new technology and the great development of digitization positively contribute to the accessibility and visibility of these patrimonies, increasing the knowledge and the dissemination. This contribution focuses on one of the towers of the coastal defence system, a perfect example of a lesser-known architecture of gre…
