Burden of HIV and hepatitis C co-infection: the changing epidemiology of hepatitis C in HIV-infected patients in France.
2015
Équipe UB/CHU (EA) Pôle MERS CT3 Hors Enjeu; International audience; Background & AimsTo better evaluate the HIV-HCV co-infection burden in the context of new effective HCV treatment. MethodsWe reviewed all the epidemiological data available on HCV-related disease in HIV-infected patients in France. Sources of data have been selected using the following criteria: (i) prospective cohorts or cross-sectional surveys; (ii) conducted at a national level; (iii) in the HIV-infected population; (iv) able to identify HCV co-infection and chronic active hepatitis C (HCV RNA positive); and (v) conducted during the period 2003-2012. ResultsThe overall prevalence of HIV-HCV co-infection has decreased fr…

Introduction du séminaire.

Evaluating consumers' willingness to buy environmentally friendly wines: A store experiment
2014
poster + communication courte confidentiels; The French program Ecophyto 2018 aims at achieving a 50% reduction in pesticide use by 2018. The vine-growing sector being the second largest user of pesticides in France, there is a strong need for French vine-growers to engage in more environmentally sustainable practices. However, they will do so if they are sure that consumers are ready to buy environmentally friendly wines. Thus, the two main objectives of this study were to identify consumers' willingness to buy environmentally friendly wines and to estimate the impact of an information campaign. 220 wine consumers participated in the study. Each consumer came twice, at a 3-week interval, i…
Impact of viable CD45 cells infused on lymphocyte subset recovery after unrelated cord blood transplantation in children
2010
International audience; We studied lymphocyte recovery in 88 children who consecutively underwent unrelated cord blood transplantation for malignant (n = 64) or nonmalignant (n = 24) diseases. All children but 3 received myeloablative conditioning regimens with pretransplant antithymocyte globulin. Median age was 5.6 years (0.1-18 years) and median follow-up was 40 months (10-136 months). The median dose of infused viable CD45(+) cells (vCD45) was 3.35 × 10(7)/kg with a ratio infused vCD45/collected total nucleated cell at 0.46. Immunologic endpoints were: time to achieve CD3(+) >500 and 1500/mm(3), CD4(+) >500/mm(3), CD8(+) >250/mm(3), CD19(+) >200/mm(3), natural killer >100/mm(3). These e…
Neuromuscular electrical stimulation leads to physiological gains enhancing postural balance in the pre‐frail elderly
2015
International audience; Physiological aging leads to a progressive weakening of muscles and tendons, thereby disturbing the ability to control postural balance and consequently increasing exposure to the risks of falls. Here, we introduce a simple and easy-to-use neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) training paradigm designed to alleviate the postural control deficit in the elderly, the first hallmarks of which present as functional impairment. Nine pre-frail older women living in a long-term care facility performed 4 weeks of NMES training on their plantarflexor muscles, and seven nontrained, non-frail older women living at home participated in this study as controls. Participants w…
Understanding the low consumption of pulses among French non vegetarian consumers : combining direct and indirect approaches to identify barriers and…
2020
The objective of this thesis was to understand the barriers related to the consumption of pulses by French non-vegetarian consumers, by combining direct, indirect and implicit approaches. After showing that the social representations of consumers towards pulses are very different from those of professionals of the industry, we explored the mental representations, beliefs and knowledge about pulses among consumers. We showed that, even if the participants in our study had knowledge regarding pulses, they did not choose them frequently and associated them mostly with meat, which holds the central place of their meal. The difficulty of preparation of pulses seems to be a major obstacle to their…
Emerging mutualisms: fungal endophytes and their relationships with mycorrhizal fungi
2011
