Spectral analysis of the dipping LMXB system XB 1916-053

Context: XB 1916-053 is a low mass X-ray binary system (LMXB) hosting a neutron star (NS) and showing periodic dips. The spectrum of the persistent emission was modeled with a blackbody component having a temperature between 1.31 and 1.67 keV and with a Comptonization component with an electron temperature of 9.4 keV and a photon index $\Gamma$ between 2.5 and 2.9. The presence of absorption features associated with highly ionized elements suggested the presence of partially ionized plasma in the system. Context: In preparation for the COROT mission, an exhaustive photometric study of Be stars located in the seismology fields of the COROT mission has been performed. The very precise and long-time-spanned photometric observations gathered by the COROT satellite will give important clues of the origin of the Be phenomenon. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan, millaisia ammatillisen kehittymisen kannalta merkityksellisiä oppimisen paikkoja rakentui luokanopettajaopiskelijoiden ilmiölähtöisellä kurssilla, jossa tutkittavana ilmiönä oli mielen hyvinvoinnin digitaalinen lukutaito. Tutkimusaineisto koostuu 38 opiskelijan päiväkirjoista ja kurssin loppukirjoitelmista. Effects of contextual variables on strategic investment decision-making styles: An empirical study from Pakistan.

There is a gap in the literature of strategic investment decision making (SIDM) concerning the links between context variables, infrastructure and SIDM practices (or SIDM styles) in developing countries. This research aims to fill that gap. Survey data (N = 128) from the manufacturing companies listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange was collected via an e-mailed questionnaire and visits to the companies. Data are analyzed with factor analysis and multiple regression analysis. This article examines Vygotskian cultural-historical theory by putting it into dialogue with Stephen Pepper's root metaphor theory. I focus on Vygotsky's insistence on the dialectical unity of the phylogenetic and ontogenetic domains in ontogenesis, which he articulated in his account of how the natural-psychological and cultural-psychological lines of development merge with the emergence of speeching in ontogenesis. I compare Vygotsky's two genetic domains and Pepper's world hypotheses of organicism and contextualism.
