2008
Abstract Four new complexes of copper(II) and/or copper(I) with 1,2-dtsq as a ligand have been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction methods, [CuII(terpy)(1,2-dtsq)] (1), [CuII(dmen)(1,2-dtsq)]n (2), {[CuII(dmen)2][CuI(1,2-dtsq)]2}n·2nH2O(3) and {[CuII(men)2][CuI (1,2-dtsq)]2}n·nH2O (4) (1,2-dtsq = 1,2-dithiosquarate, dianion of 3,4-dimercapto-1-cyclobutene-1,2-dione; dmen = N,N-dimethylethylenediamine; men = N-methylethylenediamine, terpy = 2,2′:6,2″-terpyridine). Compound 1 consists of neutral [CuII(terpy)(1,2-dtsq)] mononuclear units which are held together by O⋯H–C and van der Waals interactions. Compound 2 is built of neutral [CuII(dmen)(1,2-dtsq)] entities …
X-X through-cage bonding in Cu, Ni, and Cr complexes with M3X2 cores (X=S, As).
2008
Density functional calculations on trinuclear complexes bridged by two sulfur atoms, [(tmeda)(3)Cu(3)(mu-S)(2)](3+), [(tmeda)(3)Ni(3)(mu-S)(2)](2+), and [(tmeda)(3)Ni(3)(mu-S(2))](4+), as well as on the formation of [(tmeda)(3)Cu(3)(mu-S)(2)](3+) from a dinuclear [(tmeda)(2)Cu(2)(mu-S(2))](2+) complex and a mononuclear [(tmeda)Cu(eta(2)-S(2))](+) fragment, are reported. A qualitative orbital analysis of the M(3)X(2) framework bonding is presented for the case in which each metal atom M has a square planar coordination sphere completed by one bidentate or two monodentate ligands (that is, [(L(2)M)(3)X(2)] compounds). It is concluded that a framework electron count (FEC) of 12 corresponds to …
Acetazolamide-M(II) [M(II) = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II)] complexes with ethylamine, diethylamine, triethylamine, and potassium hidroxide
1991
Abstract Complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) with dideprotonated Acm are synthesized and characterized. Acm acts as bidentate ligand through the N-sulfonamido atom and the N-thiadiazole atom except for K6CoAcm4·6H2O in which Acm behaves as monodentate through the N-sulfonamido atom.
Copper(II)-methylmalonate complexes with unidentate N-donor ligands: Syntheses, structural characterization and magnetic properties
2009
Abstract Two new methylmalonate-bridged copper(II) complexes with the formulas [Cu(3-Ipy)(Memal)(H 2 O)] ( 1 ) and [Cu(2,4′-bpy)(Memal)(H 2 O)] · 3H 2 O ( 2 ) [Memal = methylmalonate dianion, 3-Ipy = 3-iodopyridine, 2,4′-bpy = 2,4′-bipyridine] have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction. Both compounds crystallize in the monoclinic space group P 2 1 / n and Z = 4, with unit cell parameters a = 8.5874(13) A, b = 7.1738(14) A, c = 19.093(5) A, β = 99.509(15)° in 1 and a = 17.375(4) A, b = 7.3305(14) A, c = 14.247(3) A, β = 111.409(15)° in 2 . The structures of 1 and 2 consist of zigzag chains of anti-syn carboxylate-bridged copper(II) ions running along the b directi…
Synthesis, spectroscopic, and X-ray structural study of aqua-bis(thymine-N 1 ,N 4 )-ethylenediamine copper(II)dihydrate [Cu(Thy) 2 (en)(H 2 O)].2H 2 O
2016
International audience; A new compound of thyminato anions and ethylenediamine with five-coordinate Cu(II) is synthesized. Elemental analysis and spectroscopic techniques (IR, UV-visible) were used to characterize this compound and its crystal structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure consists of the neutral mononuclear complex [Cu(Thy)(2)(en)(H2O)]center dot 2H(2)O. The environment around Cu(II) ion exhibits a square pyramidal geometry with two nitrogen atoms of ethylenediamine and two other nitrogen atoms of the monodentate monoanions of thymine building the equatorial plane. The oxygen atom from H2O molecule occupies the apical position. The comp…
New Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of benzolamide with diethylenetriamine: synthesis, spectroscopy and X-ray structures
2000
Abstract New benzolamide (H2bz, 5-phenylsulfonamide-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-sulfonamide) zinc(II) and copper(II) complexes with diethylenetriamine were synthesized and characterized. The crystal structures of the [M(Hbz)2(dien)] (M=Cu(II), Zn(II); dien=diethylenetriamine) complexes were determined. The metal centre adopts a near regular square pyramidal geometry. The benzolamidate anion acts as a monodentate ligand through the thiadiazole N atom contiguous to the deprotonated sulfonamido group. Spectroscopic properties are in good agreement with the crystal structures. The EPR and electronic spectroscopic studies showed that the copper(II) species doped into the zinc(II) complex adopts a near s…
Phenylmalonate‐Containing Copper( II ) Complexes: Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Magnetic Properties
2004
Three new copper(II) complexes of formula [Cu(2,2′-bpy)(Phmal)(H2O)]·2H2O (1), [{Cu(2,2′-bpym)(Phmal)}]n (2) and [{Cu(phen)(Phmal)}]n·3nH2O (3) (Phmal = phenylmalonate; 2,2′-bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine; 2,2′-bpym = 2,2′-bipyrimidine; phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) have been prepared and their structures determined by X-ray diffraction techniques. Complex 1 is mononuclear whereas 2 and 3 are uniform chain compounds. The copper atoms in 1−3 are distorted square-pyramidal: two nitrogen atoms from the bidentate nitrogen heterocycle and two carboxylate oxygen atoms from the phenylmalonate ligand build the equatorial plane; the axial position is filled either by a water molecule (1) or a carboxylate oxyge…
Copper(II)-phenylmalonate complexes with the bifunctional ligands nicotinamide and isonicotinamide
2011
Abstract The use as coligands of the nicotinamide (nia) and isonicotinamide (inia) molecules in the complex formation between copper(II) and phenylmalonate [Phmal = dianion of phenylmalonic acid] yielded the compounds of formula [Cu(inia)(Phmal)(H2O)] (1) and [Cu(inia)(Phmal)(H2O)]n (2). Although single crystals of 1 of appropriate size were grown, their unresolved twinning and space group ambiguity prevented a satisfactory X-ray structure determination. The crystal structure 2 consists of corrugated layers of copper(II) ions with intralayer carboxylate–phenylmalonate bridges in the anti-syn (equatorial-apical) coordination mode. A water molecule and the isonicotinamide group are coordinate…
Hexafluorophosphate and Oxalate Complexes of 4-Methoxy-2-(5-methoxy-3-methyl-pyrazol-1-yl)-6-methylpyrimidine with Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II)
1986
Abstract Complexes of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) with the title ligand, L, have been prepared and characterized through elemental analysis, conductance measurements, electronic and infrared spectra, and magnetic measurements. For all hexafluorophosphate complexes monomeric species with CuL2 2+ and ML3 2+ (M=Co,Ni,Cu) have been isolated. In the oxalate complexes the C2O4 = group act as a bidentate bridge to form compounds with probable dimeric (copper(II)) or polymeric (cobalt(II) and nickel(II)) structures.
Copper(I) Iodide Polyphosphine Adducts at Low Loading for Sonogashira Alkynylation of Demanding Halide Substrates: Ligand Exchange Study between Copp…
2010
The prestabilization of copper iodide with a multidentate ferrocenyl phosphine ligand promotes the palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling of demanding halides with phenylacetylene in a selective way. Novel CuI-triphosphine adducts are described in the solid state and in solution. Their use allowed the introduction of the copper iodide cocatalyst in unprecedented low amounts (0.4 to 0.1 mol %) in systems also employing low amounts of “ligand-free” [PdII(η3-allyl)Cl]2 precursor (0.2 to 0.05 mol %). The scope of substrates is reported, and electronically or sterically deactivated bromides were efficiently coupled. Concerning aryl chlorides, electron-poor activated substrates were also coupled usin…
