$W^{+}W^{-}$ production at the LHC: fiducial cross sections and distributions in NNLO QCD

We consider QCD radiative corrections to $W^+W^-$ production at the LHC and present the first fully differential predictions for this process at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in perturbation theory. Our computation consistently includes the leptonic decays of the $W$ bosons, taking into account spin correlations, off-shell effects and non-resonant contributions. Detailed predictions are presented for the different-flavour channel $pp\to\mu^+e^-\nu_\mu {\bar \nu}_e+X$ at $\sqrt{s}=8$ and $13$ TeV. Multiplicity dependence of jet-like two-particle correlation structures in p–Pb collisions at √sNN =5.02 TeV

Two-particle angular correlations between unidentified charged trigger and associated particles are measured by the ALICE detector in p–Pb collisions at a nucleon–nucleon centre-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV. The transverse-momentum range 0.7 < pT,assoc < pT,trig < 5.0 GeV/c is examined, to include correlations induced by jets originating from low momentum-transfer scatterings (minijets). The correlations expressed as associated yield per trigger particle are obtained in the pseudorapidity range |η| < 0.9. Jet-like correlations with neutral pion triggers in pp and central Pb–Pb collisions at 2.76 TeV

We present measurements of two-particle correlations with neutral pion trigger particles of transverse momenta 8>pT trig>16 GeV/c and associated charged particles of 0.5>pT assoc>10 GeV/c versus the azimuthal angle difference Δφ at midrapidity in pp and central Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN=2.76 TeV with ALICE. The new measurements exploit associated charged hadrons down to 0.5 GeV/c, which significantly extends our previous measurement that only used charged hadrons above 3 GeV/c. After subtracting the contributions of the flow background, v2 to v5, the per-trigger yields are extracted for |Δφ|>0.7 on the near and for |Δφ−π|>1.1 on the away side. Systematic studies of correlations between different order flow harmonics in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

The correlations between event-by-event fluctuations of anisotropic flow harmonic amplitudes have been measured in Pb-Pb collisions at √ s NN = 2.76 TeV with the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The results are reported in terms of multiparticle correlation observables dubbed symmetric cumulants. These observables are robust against biases originating from nonflow effects. The centrality dependence of correlations between the higher order harmonics (the quadrangular v 4 and pentagonal v 5 flow) and the lower order harmonics (the elliptic v 2 and triangular v 3 flow) is presented. Relativistic Versus Nonrelativistic ΛN Correlations in the Weak Decay of Hypernuclei

We establish the reasons for the different effect of short range correlations in the nonmesonic decay of Λ hypernuclei found by relativistic and nonrelativistic approaches. By means of a schematic microscopic model for the origin of correlations, the appropriate method to include them in nuclear processes, via a correlation function, is derived and is found to be the one used in the nonrelativistic approach.

Measurement of the correlation between flow harmonics of different order in lead-lead collisions at sNN=2.76 TeV with the ATLAS detector

Correlations between the elliptic or triangular flow coefficients v(m) (m = 2 or 3) and other flow harmonics v(n) (n = 2 to 5) are measured using root S-NN = 2.76 TeV Pb + Pb collision data collected in 2010 by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7 mu b(-1). The v(m)-v(n) correlations aremeasured in midrapidity as a function of centrality, and, for events within the same centrality interval, as a function of event ellipticity or triangularity defined in a forward rapidity region. Directional correlations of some γ-ray cascades in200Hg

Directional correlation functions of 10 γ-ray cascades in200Hg have been measured using a200Tl source and a Ge(Li)-NaI(Tl) coincidence spectrometer arrangement. Values of the mixing parameter δ for several transitions are determined, and the spin assignments for the following levels in200Hg are established (level energies are given in keV): 1029.4 (0+), 1254.2 (2+), 1573.7 (2+), 1593.4 (2+), 1641.5 (2+), 1730.9 (2+) and 1775.6 (3+).

Quasi-deuteron effects at intermediate energies

It has been shown that photon and pion reactions in certain energy regions are dominated by the absorption on correlated (n-p)-pairs. Therefore, calculations based on quasi-deuteron models describe rather well the present experimental results. pp and ππ intensity interferometry in collisions of Ar+KCl at 1.76A GeV

Results on pp, π+π+, and π-π- intensity interferometry are reported for collisions of Ar+KCl at 1.76$A$~GeV beam energy, studied with the High Acceptance Di-Electron Spectrometer (HADES) at SIS18/GSI. The experimental correlation functions as a function of the relative momentum are compared to model calculations allowing the determination of the space-time extent of the corresponding emission sources. The π π source radii are found significantly larger than the pp emission radius. The present radii do well complement the source-size excitation functions of the collision system of size $A+A \simeq 40+40$.
