Tässä työssä tutkin oppikirjaa, joka on käytössä yläkoulussa, mutta ei ole alun perin laadittu peruskoulua varten. Kirjaa käytetään yläkoulussa alkavan englannin opetuksessa. Käytännössä kaikki oppilaat näissä ryhmissä ovat maahanmuuttajataustaisia. Työssäni analysoin oppikirjan kirjallisia harjoituksia ja teoreettisena pohjana analyysilleni on tekstitaitojen (literacy) näkeminen sosiokognitiivisena prosessina, jossa korostuvat sekä kontekstin että merkityksellisen kommunikaation tärkeys. Lai gan lielākā pētījumu daļa ir saistīta ar valodas lietojumu profesionālos rakstos un runās, šis darbs pievērsa uzmanību valodas lietojumam reklāmas diskursā. Tā kā reklāmas jēdziens visbiežāk ir pētīts mārketinga jomā, šī darba mērķis bija uzzināt, kāda ir humora loma drukātā reklāmā. Darbs fokusējās uz modificēto iespraudumiem izmantošanu smieklīgās reklāmās, jo šis instruments ietver netiešo nozīmi. Niitä on tutkittu monelta eri näkökannalta, kuten millaisissa rooleissa mies- ja naispelihahmot ovat toisiinsa verrattuna, miten hahmot kuvataan ja miten ne vastaavat todellisuutta. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkoituksena oli tarkkailla pelien keskustelukohtauksia ja havainnoida miten pääpelihahmojen sukupuoli, etnisyys ja luokka rakennetaan kahdessa japanilaisessa konsoliroolipelissä Lost Odyssey ja Final Fantasy XIII. The present five-wave longitudinal study investigated the cross-lagged associations between young adults’ life satisfaction and study/work engagement over the transition from post-comprehensive studies to higher education or work during the second and third decades of life. Gender, educational track, academic performance and family socioeconomic status were also examined. The study is part of the longitudinal Finnish Educational Transitions (FinEdu) study, and used data from secondary education onwards, following 821 participants from age 17 to 25. In this article, we explore the internal conversations about the work values of young unemployed adults in Finland. We draw on the theoretical concept of internal conversation by Margaret Archer in order to shift the focus from the individual work values to the interplay between subjective concerns and structural circumstances. The data consist of six group interviews conducted among 29 young unemployed adults. Young women’s contradictory expectations and their perceived capabilities for future work-family reconciliation in Finland

This paper explores young women’s expectations on future work-family reconciliation in Finland, a Nordic country well-known for the promotion of gender equality. Utilising Sen’s capabilities approach, we content-analysed thirty individual interviews to identify differences in women’s expectations and their perceived capabilities in future work and care. The results showed that irrespective of their labour market status and educational attainment, the women’s expectations were contradictory, reflecting a current Finnish gender culture that embraces both the ideal of shared parenthood and the primacy of maternal care.
