Préparer et réussir le CAPES de documentation

2008

Generating policy in a changing governmental environment: how to study security policy in generation?

2008

The purpose of this paper is to deliberate the making of security policy in the EU-context, where national security discourse will increasingly face needs and demands to be melt together with a new kind of security discourse and policy of mainland Europe. By taking the viewpoint of a citizen of a modern nation-state, this paper wants to open the question of how citizens and their values are positioned in relation to the modern state and its security policy within this progress. In particular, as the two latter concepts are in motion towards some new essence. This article claims that the ongoing shaping of the new European security discourse, and values it is argued to contain, appears to ci…

Derecho, narración y racionalidad jurídica. El caso de la fazaña bajomedieval

2011

Malignant and benign sinonasal paragangliomas

2013

Objectives/Hypothesis To report on the clinical course and management of sinonasal paragangliomas (PGLs). Study Design and Methods Retrospective chart review of six patients with PGLs of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. Results Three patients had tumors with malignant clinical behavior with cerebral metastases or infiltration of brain and local recurrence, despite surgery and/or radiotherapy, while three patients demonstrated a benign course. Conclusion Sinonasal paragangliomas are frequently malignant. If malignant, they are very aggressive, with rapid local spread as well as high metastatic potential despite surgical resection; and they have a poor prognosis. Malignancy cannot be d…

In Vivo Observations on Tumor Invasion

1989

Tumor invasion in vivo is a very complex and dynamic process which depends upon a variety of interactions between heterogeneous tumor cell populations and the different cellular and extracellular components of the host tissue. This situation cannot be reproduced even in the most sophisticated in vitro system. On the other hand, there is at present no method available for a direct and dynamic observation of tumor invasion deep in the nontransparent living tissue, so that all evidence has to be derived from indirect observations made on the basis of static morphology. But all these limitations do not deny the potential value of in vivo investigations in following the natural course of tumor i…

Do Individual Differences in Cognition and Personality Predict Retrieval Practice Activities on MOOCs?

2020

Online quizzes building upon the principles of retrieval practice can have beneficial effects on learning, especially long-term retention. However, it is unexplored how interindividual differences in relevant background characteristics relate to retrieval practice activities in e-learning. Thus, this study sought to probe for this research question on a massive open online course (MOOC) platform where students have the optional possibility to quiz themselves on the to-be-learned materials. Altogether 105 students were assessed with a cognitive task tapping on reasoning, and two self-assessed personality measures capturing need for cognition (NFC), and grittiness (GRIT-S). Between-group anal…

Inclusive Education Ideal at the Negotiating Table: Accounts of Educational Possibilities for Disabled Children Within Inter‐Disciplinary Team Meetin…

2008

The debate about whether to include all kinds of students in the general education classrooms is a current topic in the European and Scandinavian educational policy. This paper comes to grips with this topic by focusing on the process through which professionals define educational possibilities and risks for one group of children considered as special needs children. The study is based on the transcripts of four Finnish interdisciplinary team meetings in which professionals and parents negotiate for the school choices of preschool‐aged children with cochlear implants. Analysis of the data is based on the principles of qualitative discourse analytical methods of conversation. Results show th…
