Valorization of rapeseed meal by solid state fermentation for an application in animal nutrition
2017
Solid state fermentation (SSF) is a biotechnological process particularly well adapted to the treatment of vegetable biomass. This technology adjustable to industrial scale, is adapted to current challenges in animal nutrition by developing fermented products in order to improve the quality of raw materials from a nutritional and functional point of view. The work presented in this thesis considers these issues using rapeseed meal from the oil crushing industry.A first screening study highlighted several fungal strains based on their growth performance and protein enrichment (total and digestible) of the substrate. Levels similar to those of soybean meal, the main protein source in animal n…
Microglial and BDNF impact on the induction of the post ischemic neuroplasticity
2011
Evidences showing that under certain circumstances, inflammatory response could be neuroprotective and could also promote adult neurogenesis are growing. In this context, the objective of this work was to investigate the impact of microglial cells in the neuroplastic events. Rats were subjected to photothrombotic ischemia and microglial cells activation was blocked by the mean of poly(ADP-ribose)polymérase-1 (PARP-1) inhibition using 3- aminobenzamide (3-AB) since this protein has been shown to play a major role in this activation. Our results show that PARP-1 activity reduction was associated with a strong repression of the acute microglial activation. Beside, 3-AB treated animals exhibite…
Geographical economics and regional integration (what lessons for Central and Eastern European countries ?)
1998
THIS PAPER AIMS TO SHOW HOW EU-INTEGRATION OF THE CENTRAL AND ORIENTAL EUROPEAN COUNTRIES WOULD MODIFY THE GROWTH OF EUROPEAN REGIONS. WE DEMONSTRATE THAT « NEW ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY » AND « NEW GROWTH THEORIES » TOGETHER ARE WELL SUITED TO UNDERSTAND AND EXPLAIN VARIOUS PHENOMENA ASSOCIATED WITH EUROPEAN INTEGRATION POLICIES. WE SHOW THAT THESE POLICIES WILL BE PROFITABLE TO GROWTH BUT WILL REINFORCE THE UROPEAN CORE-PERIPHERY GEOGRAPHIC PATTERN. WE ALSO SHOW THAT SOME MECANISMS COULD COUNTERACT THIS PATTERN OF UNEVEN DEVELOPMENT.
Interactions, spillovers de connaissance et croissance des villes européennes. Faut-il préférer la géographie, le climat institutionnel ou les réseau…
2013
Knowledge spillovers within urban economies are also sources of spillovers between cities. We examine how knowledge spillovers influenced the economic growth of 82 European metropolises over the 1990-2005 period. We model knowledge spillovers between cities on the basis of five specific interaction patterns based on geography, networks of multinational firms in advanced services, institutional climate and two combinations of these factors. Spatial models are estimated to detail the effects of growth factors in terms of spillovers and externalities. We show that spillovers are local rather than global and that interactions among cities accelerate the convergence process based on gross value …

Study of nucleation-growth processes of ettringite, alone or in a tricalcium aluminate/calcium sulfate system
2019
Ettringite Ca6Al2(SO4)3(OH)12.26H2O is one of the main hydration products of cements but despite the importance of this compound for cement chemistry, laws governing its precipitation processes have been poorly studied. This PhD thesis was entirely focused on the study of ettringite and on its nucleation-growth mechanisms.Ettringite precipitation was first studied alone from supersaturated ionic solutions. Experiments were designed in order to study separately processes of nucleation and growth. The Classical Theory of Nucleation was applied and allowed the determination of the interfacial energy of ettringite. A global description of ettringite precipitation process has been suggested. It …
Libéralisation et innovation : faut-il (vraiment) les associer ?
2015
2010
Over the last ten years, real estate prices have risen considerably and accordingly to most observers, this can at least partly be attributed to an insufficient supply, due to local growth control measures. This thesis tries to understand what motivates local authorities implementing such policies. Local politicians are considered as opportunistic and their decision is modelled as the result of a political struggle between different land-related interests. This game for influence mainly opposes the owners of developed and undeveloped land, who find allies amongst local business interests that might form growth or ideas machines. Our first model describes this struggle under different hypoth…
