A cervical myelopathy with a Hirayama disease-like phenotype

A 21-year-old man with a muscular atrophy of the left distal upper extremity is presented. The disorder had been progressive over a few years, showing an exacerbation of the hand's weakness when the patient worked in a chilled environment (i.e., in a cold room). The patient's diagnostic work-up was extensive and the MRI documented the presence of a cervical myelopathy, associated to an inversion of the physiological lordosis at the C5-C6 level, with a phenotype highly resembling Hirayama disease. Abstract The pharmacokinetics and the pharmacological response to phenprocoumon have been studied in female and male inbred Lewis-Wistar rats. A significantly lower clearance was found in female than in male rats (7.9 ± 1.4 vs 24.5 ± 2.5 mL h−1 kg−1, respectively; t = 15.09, P < 0.001) as well as a lower apparent volume of distribution (288 ± 46 vs 617 ± 105 mL kg−1; t = 7.58, P < 0.001) and a longer half-life (25.5 ± 3.4 vs 17.5 ± 1.8 h; t = 5.16, P < 0.001). Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of CD34+ selected ex vivo T-cell depletion (TCD) vs post-transplant cyclophosphamide, sirolimus, and mycophenolate mofetil (PTCy-Sir-MMF) as graft-vs-host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis. There is a paucity of data evaluating acute kidney injury (AKI) incidence and its relationship with the tacrolimus-sirolimus (Tac-Sir) concentrations in the setting of reduced-intensity conditioning (RIC) after allogeneic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT).
