08045; International audience; This paper critiques the multifarious ways whereby academic qualifications may be falsified in the international marketplace. The objectives are fourfold: (1) defining the main terms used such as fake degrees and diploma mills; (2) providing a brief history of fake degrees and identifying the factors that explain their recent development; (3) developing a theoretical framework to analyze fake degrees; and (4) exploring the costs and benefits of this activity and its net impacton a given society. Jau iepriekš ir bijuši eksperimentālie pētījumi, kuros tika mērītas sūnas un novērtēts to pieaugums, tomēr savā promocijas darbā realizēju sūnu skenēšanas metodes aprobāciju. Sūnu skenēšanas metode tika veikta tāpēc, lai turpmākos pētījumos nevajadzētu veikt katra sūnas segmenta atsevišķu parametru (segmenta stumbra un zaru) mērīšanu, kas ir laika un darba ietilpīgs process. Veicot Hylocomium splendens skenēšanas efektivitates novērtēšanu secināts, ka segmenta virsmas laukums būtiski korelēja ar segmentu svaru un arī ar zaru garumu, bet nebūtiska korelācija bija ar sūnas segmentu stumbra mērījumiem. The pervasive use of ECUs (electronic control units) in automotive systems motivates the interest of the community in methodologies for quantifying their dependability in a reproducible and cost-effective way. Although the core of modern vehicle engines is managed by the control software embedded in engine ECUs, no practical approach has been proposed so far to characterise the impact of faults on the behaviour of this software.
