Tutkimuksen tavoite oli kuvata ja ymmärtää, miten työyhteisö luo ja ylläpitää omaa kulttuuriaan vuorovaikutuksellisten esitysten kautta. Tutkittava työyhteisö oli taideorganisaatio Etelä-Suomesta. Tutkimuksessa käytettiin Pacanowskyn ja O'Donnell-Trujillon teoriaa organisaatioviestintä kulttuurisena esityksenä, joka kuuluu organisaatiokulttuuriseen näkökulmaan. Työ oli laadullinen tutkimus, jossa tutkimusaineisto kerättiin yksilöhaastatteluin ja teemoilteltiin teorialähtöisesti. Stationary sets of the mean curvature flow with a forcing term

We consider the flat flow approach for the mean curvature equation with forcing in an Euclidean space $\mathbb R^n$ of dimension at least 2. Our main results states that tangential balls in $\mathbb R^n$ under any flat flow with a bounded forcing term will experience fattening, which generalizes the result by Fusco, Julin and Morini from the planar case to higher dimensions. Then, as in the planar case, we are able to characterize stationary sets in $\mathbb R^n$ for a constant forcing term as finite unions of equisized balls with mutually positive distance.

Apollon gene silencing induces apoptosis in breast cancer cells via p53 stabilisation and caspase-3 activation

We analysed the effects of small interfering RNA (siRNA)-mediated silencing of Apollon, a member of the inhibitors of apoptosis protein family, on the proliferative potential and ability of human breast cancer cell lines to undergo apoptosis. In wild-type p53 ZR75.1 cells, Apollon knockdown resulted in a marked, time-dependent decline of cell growth and an increased rate of apoptosis, which was associated with p53 stabilisation and activation of the mitochondrial-dependent apoptotic pathway. The p53 oncosuppressor is very seldom mutated in neuroblastoma, but several mecha- nisms cooperate to its functional inactivation in this tumor. Increased MDM2 levels, due to genetic amplification or constitutive inhibition of p14ARF, significantly contribute to this event highlighting p53 reactivation as an attractive perspective for neuroblastoma treat- ment.
