Structural Parameters under Partial Least Squares and Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling : A Comment on Yuan and Deng (2021)

In their article, Yuan and Deng argue that a structural parameter under partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) is zero if and only if the same structural parameter is zero under covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM). Yuan and Deng then conclude that statistical tests on individual structural parameters assessing the null hypothesis of no effect can achieve the same purpose in CB-SEM and PLS-SEM. INCLUSIVE DECISION MAKING: THE ONLINE COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN AS AN EXAMPLE OF PARTICIPATIVE POLICY

For decades, national states have confronted various challenges to the democratic form of government. In such a highly complex frame, the question is, can public participation to policymaking still be a way to reach a more effective governance? In this chapter, I will attempt to demonstrate how inclusive bottom-up decision-making could improve the results of single projects and of wider European public policies. In the first part, I describe the European frame in which inclusive policymaking was born; then, in the second part, I analyse the Oltre project and its results as an example of participatory practices.

The micro-macro link is a central issue of human movement sciences because it directly refers to coordination and scalability of movement behaviour at different levels of analysis in a complex system. This feature of complexity is a key feature to consider decisions and actions as transitional behaviours at different levels during performance. This paper discusses and evaluates the application of a social psychologically enriched, user-centered approach to agent architecture design. The major aim is to facilitate human–agent interaction (HAI) by making agents not only algorithmically more intelligent but also socially more skillful in communicating with the user. Many real life problems can be modelled as multiobjective optimization problems. Such problems often consist of multiple conflicting objectives to be optimized simultaneously. Multiple optimal solutions exist to these problems, and a single solution cannot be said to be the best without preferences given by a domain expert.
