Synthesis of MoO3 Nanostructures and Their Facile Conversion to MoS2 Fullerenes and Nanotubes.
2007
The fast thermolysis of ammonium molybdate leads to a mixture of MoO3 and Mo5.3O14.5(OH)2.8(H2O)1.36 with spherical and rod-like morphologies. The oxide mixture can be converted in quantitative yield to inorganic fullerene-type (IF) MoS2 and MoS2 nanotubes (NT) by H2S reduction using a facile and quick procedure. The products were studied by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). TEM analysis reveals that the spherical and rod-like morphology of the oxide precursor is preserved during the H2S treatment.
Extracting multi-mode ERP features using fifth-order nonnegative tensor decomposition
2018
Background Preprocessed Event-related potential (ERP) data are usually organized in multi-way tensor, in which tensor decomposition serves as a powerful tool for data processing. Due to the limitation of computation burden for multi-way data and the low algorithm performance of stability and efficiency, multi-way ERP data are conventionally reorganized into low-order tensor or matrix before further analysis. However, the reorganization may hamper mode specification and spoil the interaction information among different modes. New method In this study, we applied a fifth-order tensor decomposition to a set of fifth-order ERP data collected by exerting proprioceptive stimulus on left and right…
Decomposition rate and invertebrate colonization of seagrass detritus along a hydrodynamic gradient in a Mediterranean coastal basin: The Stagnone di…
2019
International audience; Seagrass leaf litter decomposition is a key component of marine carbon flow driven by both biotic and abiotic factors, including water movement. In this study, we analyse Posidonia oceanica litter decomposition and invertebrate colonization in three sites with different hydrodynamics in a coastal basin. Litterbags were put on the sea bed along a gradient of distance from the open sea, implying a different level of water exchange. Leaf litter mass loss and carbon and nitrogen concentration were analysed, and density and biomass of benthic invertebrates colonizing litterbags were recorded after 3, 7, 14, 47, 101, 152 and 221 days. Results showed that in the most shelte…

Sea-surface temperature co-variability in the Southern Atlantic and Indian Oceans and its connections with the atmospheric circulation in the Souther…
2003
The relationship between sea-surface temperature (SST) inter-annual variability at the subtropical and midlatitudes of the southern Atlantic and Indian Oceans and its links with the atmospheric circulation in the Southern Hemisphere are investigated over the 1950–1999 period. Exploratory analysis using singular value decomposition and further investigations based on simple indices show that a large part of regional SST variability is common between the southwestern parts of both basins at subtropical and midlatitudes during the austral summer. Interestingly, these areas are also significantly associated with the far southwestern Pacific (Tasman Sea area). The patterns and time series of co-…
Efficiency of dihydroxamic and trihydroxamic siderochelates to extract uranium and plutonium from contaminated soils
2021
International audience; Actinide-based mineral phases occurring in contaminated soils can be solubilized by organic chelators excreted by plants, such as citrate. Herein, the efficiency of citrate towards U and Pu extraction is compared to that of siderophores, whose primary function is the acquisition of iron(III) as an essential nutrient and growth factor for many soil microorganisms. To that end, we selected desferrioxamine B (DFB) as an emblematic bacterial trishydroxamic siderophore and a synthetic analog, abbreviated (LCy,Pr)H2, of the tetradentate rhodotorulic acid (RA) produced by yeasts. Firstly, the uranyl speciation with both ligands was assessed in the pH range 2–11 by potentiom…

Arynic species; effect of substituents on the reactivity of monosubstituted dehydrobenzenes
1986
Abstract Evidence is presented demonstrating the existence of free dehydrobenzenes in the thermal decomposition of diaryliodonium-2-carboxylates, and that o-benzyne itself and its 4-methyl-, 4-chloro-,4-bromo- and 4-nitro-derivatives are generated from insoluble polymer-bound precursors and trapped by a second solid phase in Diels-Alder reactions. Lifetimes for these elusive species are determined.

Wetting and phase separation at surfaces
2005
We study the problem ofsurfacedirected spinodal decomposition, viz., the dynamical interplay of wetting and phase separation at surfaces. In particular, we focus on the kinetics of wetting-layer growth in a semi-infinite geometry for arbitrary surface potentials and mixture compositions. We also present representative results for phase separation in confined geometries, e.g., cylindrical pores, thin films, etc.
