MWP true time delay implemented in PbS-SU8 waveguides
2015
On the stability analysis for impulsive switching system with time-varying delay
2014
This paper focuses on the stability and stabilization problem for a neutral impulsive switching system with time-varying delay. Based on LMI method and optimization technologies, some stability criteria are derived for this kind of system. Some example and numerical simulation are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of our theoretical results. Refereed/Peer-reviewed
Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, Difference Equations, and Dynamic Equations on Time Scales
2016
We are pleased to present this special issue. This volume reflects an increasing interest in the analysis of qualitative behavior of solutions to differential equations, difference equations, and dynamic equations on time scales. Numerous applications arising in the engineering and natural sciences call for the development of new efficient methods and for the modification and refinement of known techniques that should be adjusted for the analysis of new classes of problems. The twofold goal of this special issue is to reflect both the state-of-the-art theoretical research and important recent advances in the solution of applied problems.
Optimal Delay-Power Tradeoff in Sparse Delay Tolerant Networks: a preliminary study
2006
In this paper we present a first attempt to study analytically the tradeoff between delivery delay and resource consumption for epidemic routing in Delay Tolerant Networks. We assume that the nodes cooperate in order to minimize a common cost equal to a weighted sum of the packet delivery delay and the total number of copies, which is strongly related to the power consumption. In this framework we determine the best policy each node should deploy in a very simple scenario where all the nodes have perfect knowledge of the system status. The result is used as an ideal reference to evaluate the performance of some heuristics proposed, investigating potential performance improvements and config…
Design of robust observer for T-S fuzzy time-delayed systems subject to unknown inputs
2013
In this paper, a novel approach is proposed to design a robust observer for a class of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy models with unknown inputs and delays. The main contribution of this paper is to consider unknown inputs and a mixed neutral and discrete delay in the model. Also, the system is subject to disturbances, which are imposed on both state and output signals. Delay-dependent sufficient conditions for the design of an unknown input T-S observer with time delays are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Some relaxations are introduced by using intermediate variables. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the given results.
Parasite population delay model of malaria type with stochastic perturbation and environmental criterion for limitation of disease
2009
AbstractWe present a stochastic delay model of an infectious disease (malaria) transmitted by a vectors (mosquitoes) after an incubation time. A criterion for limitation of disease is found.
Controlled Release of Metformin Hydrochloride from Core-Shell Nanofibers with Fish Sarcoplasmic Protein
2019
Ficai, Anton/0000-0002-1777-0525; Karademir, Betul/0000-0003-1762-0284 WOS:000503463400074 PubMed ID: 31658758 Background and Objectives: A coaxial electrospinning technique was used to produce core/shell nanofibers of a polylactic acid (PLA) as a shell and a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) containing metformin hydrochloride (MH) as a core. Materials and Methods: Fish sarcoplasmic protein (FSP) was extracted from fresh bonito and incorporated into nanofiber at various concentrations to investigate the influence on properties of the coaxial nanofibers. The morphology, chemical structure and thermal properties of the nanofibers were studied. Results: The results show that uniform and bead-free struct…

Time dispersion characterization for UWB mobile radio channels between 3.1 and 10.6 GHz
2007
In this paper, a characterization of the UWB mobile radio channel time dispersion is presented. The results provided were obtained from a measurement campaign carried out in a typical indoor office scenario in the band from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz. Time dispersion metrics as delay spread, coherence bandwidth, delay interval and delay window, in both line-of-sight (LOS) and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) conditions are provided.
Streaming for vehicular users via elastic proxy buffer management
2004
In this article we refer to the market of vehicular networks, where groups of customers located in the same public vehicle (e.g., a train or bus) connect to a terrestrial network through a wireless/satellite backbone link. Elastic buffering is a proxy management technique devised to decouple the multimedia information retrieval rate on the network backbone from the playout streaming rate at the user terminal. It has been shown in the past that the application of elastic buffering mechanisms in terrestrial networks brings significant advantages in terms of network effectiveness. We show that elastic buffering is an extremely effective means to reduce, or even eliminate, streaming service out…
