Informatics in Descriptive Geometry. Didactic Experience
2009
This study is centred in the environment of the research into solutions of the problems of graphic representation, expressing theoretical considerations which allow the carrying out of geometric-descriptive procedures decoded in informatics language, for implementing CAD commands.
From the descriptive geometry to the informatics language - Case study
2010
This study is centred in the environment of the research into solutions of the problems of graphic representation, expressing theoretical considerations which allow the carrying out of geometric-descriptive procedures decoded in informatics language, for implementing CAD commands. The solution of these problems requires a reliable command of stereometry and descriptive geometry and it can extend remarkably the level of external geometric competences. The implementation of the means of ICT has brought a higher effectiveness of graphing mapping processes. In the informatics field, the advent of software dedicated to computerized representation has increased the possibilities of investigation …
TEACHER OPINIONS ON SEXUAL EDUCATION OF STUDENTS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY IN LATVIA
2021
Sexual education plays an important role in preparing children and adolescents for a safe and productive life. Sex education provides not only knowledge about different types of sexual issues, or about common sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted pregnancies, sexual violence, but also personal identity, safety, love, intimacy and relationships. This study was conducted in order to examine the opinions of special education teachers working with adolescents with intellectual disabilities on sexual education. A descriptive study design was used. The authors designed a questionnaire to explore the opinions of 72 special education teachers in Latvia. The research results approved how crucial it …
Cloaking In-Plane Elastic Waves with Swiss Rolls
2020
We propose a design of cylindrical cloak for coupled in-plane shear waves consisting of concentric layers of sub-wavelength resonant stress-free inclusions shaped as Swiss rolls. The scaling factor between inclusions&rsquo
Family context assessment and positive parenting policies
2018
This study presents the descriptive data of a family context assessment carried out using a new instrument which includes a wide range of variables identified in recent scientific literature as inf...
El lenguaje jurídico con perspectiva de género. Algunas reflexiones para la reforma constitucional
2019
Language shows culture and describes reality, but also the language allows you to retain and preserve the existing values, to maintain and perpetuate male values, which are patriarchal because society is patriarchal. Thus the language has served to contribute to the construction of that patriarchal culture. If the language has the power to create, it has the power to transform, therefore language can serve to build another type of relations and culture based on equality and consequently other more fair society. The construction of a more fair society depends in part on the use of another kind of language, language with gender perspective, and the overcoming of sexist and androcentric langua…
Predictors of time famine among Finnish employees - Work, family or leisure?
2009
The recent survey data indicates that the time famine is a common experience among employees, while the data of time use indicates increased leisure time. Similarly, there are different views on the causes of time famine. Firstly, in working life research time famine is usually explained by increasing requirements of work life. Secondly, in gender studies time famine is considered to be a product of family obligations. Thirdly, some authors interpret time famine as a phenomenon relating to the intensification of leisure. The aim of the study was to examine the extent and causes of time famine among Finnish employees. The analysis was based on the Finnish Use of Time data (1999–2000) and foc…
On the study of the different factors influencing the structure and the texture of semi-humid baked aerated cereal products : sensory and instrumenta…
2014
Since texture is the manifestation of structural, mechanical and surface properties of a material, it represents a key characteristic for food materials. It reflects food quality, freshness perception influencing consumer acceptance.Studies encountered in the scientific literature that are devoted to cereal based foods texture are foremost based on bread also biscuits scarcely on cakes. This study entitled ‘study of the different factors influencing the structure and the texture of semi-humid baked aerated cereal products: sensory and instrumental dimensions of texture’ focus on cake softness characterization, set up and evolution. First, the investigation of the influence of soft wheat flo…
Polymer-Functionalised Nanograins of Mg-Doped Amorphous Calcium Carbonate via a Flow-Chemistry Approach
2019
Calcareous biominerals typically feature a hybrid nanogranular structure consisting of calcium carbonate nanograins coated with organic matrices. This nanogranular organisation has a beneficial effect on the functionality of these bioceramics. In this feasibility study, we successfully employed a flow-chemistry approach to precipitate Mg-doped amorphous calcium carbonate particles functionalized by negatively charged polyelectrolytes&mdash
A model of the Islamic sovereign wealth fund
2019
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to propose a model of the Islamic sovereign wealth funds (ISWFs) based on Islamic finance principles to modify the precarious image of SWFs from Muslim countries. The Shariah laws are the cardinal direction for this study. Design/methodology/approach The authors applied a qualitative research technique that consists of three approaches: exploratory case study approach to critically examine and rank the existing status of SWFs; descriptive analysis; and content analysis to present a model of ISWFs in comparison of conventional SWFs. Findings The authors propose a model of the “Islamic Sovereign Wealth Funds” based on four key pillars: the major Shariah p…
