2019
The author shows how the theme of eros in Paul Celan constitutes the place of a division of the subject despite to which the difficult search for unity is problematically entrusted. For this radicality, desire becomes the testimony of the impossibility to separate life from death which reflects intimately the condition of Jewish survivor for whom the continuity of life appears irreversibly broken.
L'ipotesi dell'educazione morale. Tra Aristotele ed Edith Stein
2018
The paper aims at highlighting the hypothesis of "someone's generation to the good life", or the hypothesis of the teachability of virtue, starting from its Platonic and, above all, Aristotelian root and exploring its recovery in the phenomenology of the early twentieth century.
2020
How is a specific type of emotion-related work conducts formed today? What principles guide these conducts and what effects do they have on those who work? The study of Contact Center agents allows us to understand how a set of personal qualities such as patience and good treatment of others, certain desires and personal impulses or even intimate sensations such as anguish or individual expectations have become managerialized emotions that end up modifying the inner attitudes of these agents. Within this framework, we propose a theoretical approach that integrates the work of Weber, Foucault and Elias, which invites us to reflect on a socio-emotional manner of leading one?s life (Lebensfu?h…
Sexuality and Cancer in the Aged/Aging Population
2017
Cancer as a special topic in the senior group is not much discussed in the professional literature, and the same goes for sexuality in old age. That apparent accumulation of taboos does not offer justice to the reality of many aging patients and their partners. There are several arguments to pay proper attention to sexuality in the group of aging cancer patients.
2013
If the surrealist group has attracted the interest of philosophers, one can also note that some of these artists have attempted to develop their own philosophical reflection. This was the case of Hans Bellmer obsessed with the themes of desire, body and metamorphosis and, through that, with the games of identity and otherness. The anatomy of the image, one of Bellmer’s essential books, also shows the role of the artistic creation in the efforts to illuminate the “enigma of existence”.
Microbiological investigation of Raphanus sativus L. grown hydroponically in nutrient solutions contaminated with spoilage and pathogenic bacteria
2012
Abstract The survival of eight undesired (spoilage/pathogenic) food related bacteria (Citrobacter freundii PSS60, Enterobacter spp. PSS11, Escherichia coli PSS2, Klebsiella oxytoca PSS82, Serratia grimesii PSS72, Pseudomonas putida PSS21, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia PSS52 and Listeria monocytogenes ATCC 19114T) was investigated in mineral nutrient solution (MNS) during the crop cycle of radishes (Raphanus sativus L.) cultivated in hydroponics in a greenhouse. MNSs were microbiologically analyzed weekly by plate count. The evolution of the pure cultures was also evaluated in sterile MNS in test tubes. The inoculated trials contained an initial total mesophilic count (TMC) ranging between 6.…
Brancati su Pirandello e il pirandellismo
2019
Goal-Oriented Development of BDI Agents: The PRACTIONIST Approach
2006
The representation of goals and the ability to reason about them play an important role in goal-oriented requirements analysis and modelling techniques, especially in agent-oriented software engineering, as goals are more stable than other abstractions (e.g. user stories). In PRACTIONIST, a framework for developing agent systems according to the Belief-Desire-Intention (BDI) model, goals play a central role. Thus, in this paper we describe the structure of the goal model in the PRACTIONIST framework and how agents use their goal model to reason about goals, desires, and intentions during their deliberation process and means-ends reasoning as well as while performing their activities.
Leo Tolstoy’s and Joseph Conrad’s Relation to Music
2017
It is important to stress that Tolstoy’s and Conrad’s texts are to be understood to include not only literary, and thus verbal, texts but also elements of other media, such as music, theatre and visual arts. It should be noted that for Conrad music was also one of the arts that he greatly appreciated. Though Conrad’s main concern was to make us “see,” he was also concerned with making us “hear.” The use of music to accompany sexual desire, frustration and violence is a technique often used by the writer. Likewise, music had an enormous infl uence on Tolstoy. He was fascinated with its power, just as with the power of sexuality, beauty and war. His favourite composer was Chopin, but he also …
L’eros che non c’è. Meraviglie e contraddizioni dell’amore
2020
Perché l’amore resiste a ogni delusione, e siamo sempre tutti pronti a investire ancora sulle sue lusinghe?
