Level Scheme of 102In first observed
2019
Neutron deficient nuclei close to 100Sn have been investigated in-beam by particle and γ -ray spectroscopic methods using the NORDBALL detector array following the bombartment of a 54Fe target with a beam of 270 MeV 58Ni. Protons and α particles were identified with a 4 π ΔE -type Si-multidetector and neutrons with a 1π liquid-scintillator-detectorassembly placed in the forward derection. Excited states of 102 In were identified for the first time. The level scheme constructed from γ - γ -particle-coincidence and γ angular correlations is discussed and compared to the structure of neighboring nuclei in the framework of the nuclear shell model.
Nuclear structure dependence of fusion hindrance in heavy element synthesis
2018
The production of the heaviest elements in fusion-evaporation reactions is substantially limited by very low cross sections, as fusion cross sections (including fusion-fission) are greatly reduced by the competing quasifission mechanism. Using the Australian National University Heavy Ion Accelerator Facility and CUBE detector array, fission fragments from the $^{48}\mathrm{Ti}+^{204,208}\mathrm{Pb}$ and $^{50}\mathrm{Ti}+^{206,208}\mathrm{Pb}$ reactions have been measured, with the aim to investigate how the competition between quasifission and fusion-fission evolves with small changes in entrance-channel properties associated mainly with the nuclear structure. Analysis of mass-distribution…
Evidence for band termination in118Xe
1991
The yrast band of Xe118 has been extended up to tentatively I-pi = 34+ in a heavy-ion in-beam gamma-spectroscopic study using the NORDBALL detector array. A band crossing is observed at the highest ...
Coexisting structures in 115Sn and 116Sn
1998
Abstract Excited states up to I ≈ 20 in 115 Sn and 116 Sn, populated via the ( 18 O, αxn) reactions, have been studied using the DORIS Ge detector array in conjunction with charged particle detectors. In both nuclei, spherical as well as regular, deformed level structures were found. The spherical states are interpreted to arise from pure neutron configurations, while the deformed, intruder bands obviously involve proton 2p-2h excitations across the Z = 50 shell gap.
Study of $^{45}$Ar through (d, p) reaction at SPIRAL
2005
NESTER; International audience; The structure of the neutron-rich nucleus $^{45}$Ar has been investigated through the d($^{44}$Ar,$^{45}$Ar)p transfer reaction. Radioactive beam of $^{44}$Ar at 10 A MeV has been provided by the SPIRAL facility at GANIL. The protons corresponding to a neutron pick-up on bound or unbound states mechanism in $^{45}$Ar nuclei were detected at backward angles by the detector array MUST. The transfer-like ejectiles were detected in the SPEG spectrometer. Level scheme, spin assignments and spectroscopic factors have been deduced for $^{45}$Ar and compared to shell model predictions. These parameters will be subsequently used to infer (n, $\gamma$) cross sections i…
High spin band structures in104Cd
1995
High spin states in Cd-104 have been investigated by means of heavy ion induced reactions using the Nordball detector array. The level scheme constructed from yy-coincidences is dominated by three ...
Investigation of the (d, p)-reaction on136, 132Xe in inverse kinematics
1991
The one-neutron transfer reactions d(132,136 Xe, p)133,137 Xe have been investigated in inverse kinematics with xenon beams incident on deuterium loaded titanium targets. The angular distributions of the protons, measured with a detector array of 100 PIN-photodiodes, have been analyzed using standard DWBA. Generally, good agreement is obtained with results previously obtained in reactions induced by light-ion beams.
Shape coexistence in 117I
1992
The 117I nucleus has been investigated in a high-spin gamma-spectroscopic study using the NORDBALL detector array. The observed level structures are interpreted as resulting from coexisting collect ...
In-beam study of 102In, 104In and 106In
1995
Proton-rich odd-odd In isotopes have been investigated by in-beam spectroscopic methods using the NORDBALL detector array. A Ni-58 beam with an energy of 270 MeV was used to bombard a Fe-54 target. ...
Maximally aligned states in the proton drip line nucleus 106Sb
2005
High-spin states in Sb-106 have been investigated in the Fe-54(Ni-58, 1α 1p1n) reaction by in-beam γ-spectroscopic methods using the EUROBALL detector array equipped with charged particle and neutr ...
