Is Autonomy Always Beneficial for Work Engagement? A Six-year Four-Wave Follow-Up Study.
2021
Work engagement is expected to result from job resources such as autonomy. However, previous results have yielded that the autonomy–work engagement relationship is not always particularly strong. Whereas previous longitudinal studies have examined this relationship as an average at a specific point in time, this study examined whether this relationship is different within individuals from one time to another over the years. Furthermore, experiences of work engagement are expected to affect how employees benefit from autonomy, but no studies have so far investigated whether the initial level of work engagement affects the autonomy–work engagement relationship. This study aimed to first ident…

Self-reliance is a feature which develops with age and whose scope expands alongside. Wise rearing means resignation from relieving children, imposing requireme…
Ogólnopolska kariera śląskiego wulgaryzmu
2019
Artykuł omawia dzieje wulgaryzmu ciul, który z dialektu śląskiego przeszedł do odmiany potocznej polszczyzny ogólnej. Po raz pierwszy wulgaryzm zapisano w 1875 r. w śląskich dokumentach sądowych. Leksem pochodzi z gwar czeskich (por. culík ‘warkocz, spleciona kępa włosów’) lub morawskich (culík ‘sopel’). Pierwotne znaczenie uległo metaforyzacji i zaczęło oznaczać ‘narząd męski, penis’. Pierwotne wulgarne znaczenie leksemu rozszczepi…

Áreas protegidas e urbanização : o caso da APA da ilha do Combú, Belém-PA
2020
The paper seeks to answer two questions: what is the influence of the geographical location of the island of Combú in the metropolitan area of Belém, PA, and whether its current status as an Area of Environmental Protection (APA) has any impact on biodiversity and socioeconomic development? Similar to other riverside areas in the Amazon, Combú has a long history of involvement in the trade of extractive products. However, its geographical proximity to Belém and consequent access to markets made producers less dependent on intermediaries, while the ownership of resources was based on independent family units. Therefore, the dominant mode of caboclo extractivism, together with limited access …
