Els verbs de tipus naixtre al Baix Vinalopó

The aim of this paper is to analyze a sample of verb morphology belonging to the speech of the Valencian area of Baix Vinalopó, in order to ascertain the effect of Catalan standard forms upon traditional spoken tendencies, once Catalan has been present at school or in the mass media for more than twelve years. More specifically, there is an ongoing morphological change, affecting a number of infinitives, future and conditional tenses of the «naixtre», «ixtrà» or «convenstre» type, as different from the general forms in Catalan «nàixer», «eixirà» and «convèncer».

El diccionari "Voces castellanas i su equivalència en valenciano. Voces valencianas i su equivalencia en castellano" (de l'any 1825 i d'autor desconegut, tot i que està signat amb les inicials C. M. G.) no havia merescut fins ara més atenció que aquella que es dedica a una obra manuscrita que gairebé tots els estudiosos de la lexicografia coneixen indirectament. A current suggestion in the variationist literature is that the predominance of forms like we was in nonstandard varieties of English is predictable in that was-generalization represents a case of the “default singular.” I argue that while the principle of the default singular is a sound one, it is not appropriate as an explanation for was-generalization. What is involved is not a matter of singular versus plural but of r-forms of the past tense of to be versus s-forms, with forms like were, war , wor representing the r-variant and was, wiz , wus the s-variant. For the Italo-Albanian reality, the diatopic-diachronic relationship of dialect variation takes on different aspects compared to that experienced in the Italo-Romance reality. Sometimes local administrators, even when well intentioned, contribute to the destruction of some monuments tied to the collective memory of a community. This happens when they decide to cover streams or remove boulders and with them the names by which they have been known to the community. In this way they cancel significant references for local toponymy. As one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, German is not any way a uniform from of communication. The present contribution will deal with German in Silesia particularly the German spoken in the Upper Silesian language island (Sprachinsel) of Kostenthal (Gościęcin). Following an introduction to the historical development of this language island. I will present several particularities of this German variety. The idiosyncrasies of the base dialect of Kostenthal that are reflected in the predominant German Umgangssprache spoken locally today will then be shown.
