Dialogue as a Response to the Psychiatrization of Society? Potentials of the Open Dialogue Approach
2021
In recent decades, the use of psychosocial and psychiatric care systems has increased worldwide. A recent article proposed the concept of psychiatrization as an explanatory framework, describing multiple processes responsible for the spread of psychiatric concepts and forms of treatment. This article aims to explore the potentials of the Open Dialogue (OD) approach for engaging in less psychiatrizing forms of psychosocial support. While OD may not be an all-encompassing solution to de-psychiatrization, this paper refers to previous research showing that OD has the potential to 1) limit the use of neuroleptics, 2), reduce the incidences of mental health problems and 3) decrease the use of ps…
Didattica sperimentale per un servizio sociale transculturale
2014
Architecture is intrinsically linked to dialogue with a two-fold relationship: one of an internal nature to the discipline, almost constitutive, and the other external linked to the very occasions of the project, even if intra …

2017
1990-luvun alussa Suomen lainsäädäntö mahdollisti opetuksen vieraalla kielellä (CLIL – Content and Language Integrated Learning). Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan englanninkielipainotteisessa sisätauti-kirurgisessa koulutusohjelmassa opiskelleiden sairaanhoidon opiskelijoiden ammatillista suullista englannin kielen taitoa. Koulutus aloitettiin vuonna 1994. Tutkimus pyrkii kuvaamaan miten ammatillisesti opiskelijat viestivät potilaiden kanssa simuloiduissa työnäytteissä. Lisäksi tavoitteena on tarkastella, mikä rooli opiskelijoiden yleisellä englannin kielen taidolla oli vietintäprosessissa. Tutkimuksen aineisto kerättiin näyttökokeella, joka laadittiin yhteistyössä koulutusohjelmassa opett…
Der Dialog muss weitergehen. Christentum und Islam in den Pontifiaten von Johannes Paul II., Benedikt XVI. und Franziskus
2020
The aim of the article is the critical presentation of the vision of the dialogue between Christianity and Islam in the pontifiates of John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Francis. The pontifiate of John Paul II constitutes a quantum leap forward as far as both the practice of dialogue of the Catholic Church with Islam and systematic reflction on its signifiance and theological fundamentals are concerned. The Pope emphasized the signifiance of the common religious and cultural heritage of Christians and Muslims. Both worship the same God and have the common ancestor in faith, namely Abraham. The ties of brotherhood that join them are an obligation for mutual respect as well as shaping peaceful r…

Tarantino's Round Flat Characters: A (Mainly) Verbal Study of Reservoir Dogs (1992).
2012
International audience; This article revisits E.M. Forster's distinction between round and flat characters in order to study the balancing between genre characters and realistic characters Tarantino's first film effects. It starts by examining the relationship between the fictional director of the heist (Joe Cabot), the other characters and the real director in a scene where Tarantino's cameo as a minor character endows the fictional director with authority and consequently emphasizes the shared dimension of filmmaking. The author then argues that the characters' capacity to identify and articulate flatness and rotundity in themselves and each other makes them appear round as it implies tha…
