2022

This article analyses the bill of 2nd February 2021 on additional revenues of the National Health Fund, the National Fund for the Protection of Historical Monuments and the establishment of a Fund for the Support of Culture and National Heritage in the Media Area. The draft legislation, the announcement of which has triggered an unprecedented blackout protest in private media as well as a mass anti-government protest on the Internet, provides for the introduction of new public levies called advertisement contributions and the establishment of a new state special-purpose fund – the Fund for the Support of Culture and National Heritage in the Media Area. Professionals in value co-creation through digital healthcare services

2018

Digitization is changing the dynamics within the service sector, including healthcare. The customer access to information and new ways of interacting with the customer challenge the traditional service within healthcare featured by information asymmetry and autonomous role of professionals in decision making. Digitization introduces new service concepts and roles of service actors benefiting value cocreation among the service network. Customer actively participates in the digital service process, which sets demand for new approach, behavior and skills of the professional interacting with the customer. The present discussion around value cocreation lacks research from the service provider’s …

Unboxing co-creation of value: Users' hedonic and utilitarian drivers

2019

Value co-creation through involving users in service processes via resource integration is a focal service research interest. However, studies often take a firm-centric or generic approach and overlook value co-creation from the point view of an individual user. We address this gap by adopting a qualitative research approach and laddering interviews (n = 113) to examine users’ hedonic and utilitarian drivers for value co-creation behavior in five service system contexts. We argue that underlying differences exist among all service systems and contribute with a novel approach by depicting the differences in value-based motivations for users to co-create value. As practical implications, our …

The balanced digitalization and digital security : Case of regional authorities

2019

The emerging digital infrastructure enables the public authorities to shape their processes and to create attractive digital services for the citizens and the business actors. The public processes, services and infrastructure, however, engage with global and local public and private digital infrastructure and service providers. The complex comprehensiveness of the digital infrastructure and the services challenges the public authorities and create new types of security risks. The achieving of the benefits of the digitalization of public processes and services without increasing security risks requires the adopting of novel approaches to digital security. The paper refers to a framework that…

Harnessing Digital Services for Co-creating Sustainability Value in the Retail Servicescape

2022

While the importance of sustainable consumption is well acknowledged and consumers increasingly demand sustainable alternatives, the consumption of environmentally strenuous products continues to grow. Technological solutions have been discussed for addressing the misalignment between consumers’ attitudes and behavior. This study is the first to use the service-dominant logic lens to investigate how digital services may be harnessed to drive the co-creation of sustainability value in the retail industry. We conduct 10 semi-structured interviews with a Finnish retail company and its customers and reflect on the customers’ experiences with respect to the company’s value propositions in the se…

Designing a Eustress Toolbox : From entrepreneur experiences to an online service

2018

Stress is typically seen as a negative phenomenon. However, the positive side of stress (i.e., eustress) has the potential to improve well-being, productivity, and innovativeness, thus increasing individuals’ daily resources at work. Focusing on eustress could enhance work engagement by turning some of the negatively perceived stressors into positive challenges. We explored this possibility by interviewing 21 Finnish entrepreneurs from various fields regarding their experiences of eustress. Nine of the interviewed entrepreneurs also recorded a eustress diary. Based on thematic analysis of the interview data, six main themes supporting eustress were identified: (a) Selfreflection toward chan…
