A new ecdysteroid and other constituents from two Dioscorea species

Phytochemical investigation of the rhizome of Dioscorea dumetorum has led to the isolation by several chromatographic steps on normal and reversed phase silica gel of a new ecdysteroid, (20R)-5β,11α,20-trihydroxyecdysone (1), and two known ecdysteroids, ajugasterone C (2) and herkesterone (3). Their structures were determined by spectroscopic methods including 1D- and 2D-NMR (COSY, TOCSY, HSQC and HMBC). This is the first report on the occurrence of phytoecdysteroids in the Dioscoreaceae family. These compounds were devoid of antifungal activity against three Candida species (Candida albicans, Candida glabrata and Candida tropicalis, MIC > 200 μg/ml).

En concreto, el enfoque clínico puede servir para reequilibrar los fines que debería tener la educación jurídica: formar juristas preparados y competentes, profesionales valiosos, y buenos ciudadanos. En el texto, a partir de las experiencias en universidades de todo el mundo y recientemente en nuestro país, se exploran algunas sugerencias para su incorporación en el proceso formativo de los juristas y para fomentar su futura sostenibilidad.

This paper examines the compliance of Spanish crime reporting with the principles of the 2016 EU Directive on presumption of innocence, which aims at preventing the publication of information that might bias the public and the jurors against the suspect. A content analysis applied to a sample of 200 crime news stories published by eleven of the most popular print and online news platforms in 2018 reveals that the Spanish press coverage of crime is centered around the pre-trial and sentence stages, with little attention to the oral trial. [EN] Persimmon fruit cv. 'Rojo Brillante' is an astringent cultivar due to its content of soluble tannins, which are insolubilised during the ripening of the fruit. Traditionally, the consumption of this cultivar has only been possible when the fruit is overripe and the texture is soft. Postharvest treatments based on exposing fruits to high CO2 concentrations allow astringency removal while preserving high flesh firmness. However, the effectiveness of this treatment is controlled by means of slow destructive methods.
