Transkraniaalisen tasavirtastimulaation vaikutukset erottelu- ja käänteisoppimiseen sekä reagointiherkkyyden muutoksiin

Transkraniaalisella tasavirtastimulaatiolla (tDCS) tarkoitetaan menetelmää, jossa johdetaan heikkoa sähkövirtaa aivokudosten läpi elektrodilta toiselle. Tutkimusten mukaan tDCS:lla näyttäisi olevan monenlaisia kliinisiä ja kognitiivisia vaikutuksia aina masennuksen hoidosta työmuistin parantamiseen. Tulokset ovat kuitenkin monin paikoin varsin ristiriitaisia, eikä stimulaation tarkoista vaikutusmekanismeistakaan olla päästy varmuuteen. Tässä tutkimuksessa halusimme tutkia kokeellisesti tDCS:n vaikutuksia erottelu- ja käänteisoppimiseen sekä reagointiherkkyyden muutoksiin silmäniskuehdollistumisen avulla. The reconstruction of easterly wind directions for the Eifel region (Central Europe) during the period 40.3–12.9 ka BP

Abstract. A high resolution continuous reconstruction of last glacial wind directions is based on provenance analysis of eolian sediments in a sediment core from the Dehner dry Maar in the Eifel region (Germany). This Maar is suitable to archive easterly wind directions due to its location west of the Devonian carbonate basins of the Eifel-North-South-Zone. Thus, eolian sediments with high clastic carbonate content can be interpreted as an east wind signal. The detection of such east wind sediments is applied by a new module of the RADIUS grain size analyze technique. Analysis of the energy balance closure over a FLUXNET boreal forest in Finland

Abstract. The imbalance in the surface energy budget, when using eddy-covariance techniques to measure turbulent fluxes, is still an unresolved problem. Important progresses have been reported in recent years identifying potential reasons for this lack of energy balance closure. In this paper we focus on the data collected in a FLUXNET boreal forest site in Sodankylä, Finland. Using one month half-hourly data, an average Energy Balance Ratio (EBR) of 0.72 is obtained. The inclusion of the heat storage terms in the energy budget yields an improvement of about 6% in the total closure. Groundwater quality in coastal areas is frequently affected by seawater intrusion as a consequence of intensive water consumption. To achieve “good chemical status” of a groundwater body according to Water Framework Directive the effects of saline or other intrusions should not be observed. Groundwater pumping in former decades has caused a significant seawater intrusion into confined aquifer in Liepāja and has led to deterioration of relatively wide coastal area of the third largest city in Latvia.
