En este trabajo se describen algunas de las operaciones de representación a través de las cuales se han generado, a lo largo del tiempo, narrativas y estéticas en torno al impacto de la desaparición forzada en Chile. A partir del análisis de textos poéticos, el artículo describe un paisaje social caracterizado por la presencia de nombres sin cuerpo y de cuerpos sin nombre. Analiza en relación con ello tres tendencias mayores en los intentos de dar forma al impacto de la desaparición, a través de la puesta en relación de imágenes fotográficas, textos literarios, propuestas artísticas y narraciones audiovisuales. Proponemos, en primer lugar, reflexionar en torno a tres tipos de objetos vinculados a diversos escenarios de la memoria: el objeto testimonio que funciona como un código verificativo cuya primera intención consiste en certificar el acontecimiento; el objeto memoria que despliega un trabajo con la memoria de tipo reflexivo-interpretativo y/o elaborativo, y el objeto emblema que se presenta y actúa en las marchas, en las conmemoraciones, en los juicios, en las protestas y demandas articuladas en las luchas por la memoria, verdad y justicia. No es extraño, pues se han conseguido a partir de ese concepto resultados poderosos. The objective that drives this research is given by a multitude of information which, in addition to the contribution of technology, allows us to study, analyze, verify and remodel the sites, monuments and evolutions of the city through graphic processes of perspective restitution that start from the analysis of historical photos. In 1891 the IV Italian National Exposition was held in Palermo, the first to have a southern city as its protagonist. The area on which the pavilions were built, obtained from the expropriation of the land belonging to the Prince of Villafranca, lent itself from the following year to accommodate the housing development and new buildings to complete the Via della Libertà, a high-bourgeois boulevard that already in 1850, by cutting the same "Firriato" of the Villafranca family, had marked the expansion towards the north of the city and seen the construction of the first buildings on its eastern front.
