After a brief introduction on argumentative discourse and the opinion columns, the identity of the locutor/enunciator is analysed in detail. How hotel websites may discursively adjust to customer preferences using online criticism

This paper explores discursive ways in which hotels may improve their own websites using online criticism to adjust to customer preferences. To this end, a combined method was used, consisting of a netnographic approach (Kozinet, 2010; Mkono, 2011, 2012) together with an interpersonal discourse framework (Hyland, 2008) applied to e-tourism genres (Suau-Jiménez, 2012, 2016). Four hotel websites, together with 200 corresponding negative reviews from TripAdvisor, were diachronically analyzed to identify common topics. The discursive analysis of criminal organizations’ family dynamics and ideological devices may provide important insights into the inner functioning of these groups. In this article, we describe and analyze a specific set of discursive strategies and the thematic narratives emerging from a TV interview with Giuseppe Riina, a member of Cosa Nostra and the son of one of the most important mafia bosses. Our analyses demonstrate the existence of recurring ideological devices such as reductionism, amoralism, familism, verticalism, normalism, victimism and religious relativism. This chapter investigates the online reception of the Canadian video game Child of Light (Ubisoft, Child of Light. Montreal: Ubisoft Studios. Video Game, 2014) as a space of encounter between imaginary childhoods and experienced adulthoods. Dla Habermasa sfera publiczna jest centrum życia społeczno-politycznego. Jest ona niejako buforem między społeczeństwem a płaszczyzną władzy i polityki. Właściwy jej kształt zapewnia możliwość trafnej oceny problemów i przekazywania ich do centrów decyzyjnych władzy. Sfera publiczna jest sferą prywatnych ludzi gromadzących się w publiczność, jednak nie jako biernych widzów, ale aktywnie włączających się w definiowanie i rozwiązywanie wspólnie tematyzowanych problemów. Jej ideał Habermas upatruje w XVIII-wiecznej sferze mieszczańsko-obywatelskiej, po której jednak następuje jej rozpad. Media stają się elementem opiniotwórczym i manipulującym publicznością.
Affective Arousal During Blaming in Couple Therapy: Combining Analyses of Verbal Discourse and Physiological Responses in Two Case Studies

Blaming one’s partner is common in couple therapy and such moral comment often evokes affective arousal. How people attune to each other as whole embodied beings is a current focus of interest in psychotherapy research. This study contributes to the literature by looking at attunement during critical moments in therapy interaction. Responses to blaming in verbal dialogue and at the level of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) were investigated in two couple therapy cases with a client couple and two therapists. In the process of mastery of each genre, the mental representation of the text is key, which acts as a regulating element of writing in different phases.
