Šī maģistra darba mērķis ir pētīt idiomu tulkošanu politikas tekstos. Mērķa sasniegšanai tika pielietots sekundārai pētījums, kura ietvaros aplūkoti agrāki informācijas avoti par atbilstīgo tēmu, piemēram, tādu autoru kā Jean-Paul Vinay and Jean Darbelnet (1958), Peter Newmark (1988), George Lakoff (1997), Mona Baker (1992) un Paul Chilton (2004) pētījumi un citi darbi, un arī sākotnējais pētījums, kurš iekļāva kvalitatīvo un kvantitatīvo analīzi. Šī pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka politikas tekstos (šajā gadījumā: Eiropas Komisijas preses relīzēs) idiomas visbiežāk tulkotas parafrāzējot.

This article discusses the three Finnish city names Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa, and the urban discourses that surround them. The study reveals patterns of socio-spatial differentiation by examining what meanings people attach to these capital region cities and investigating how these meanings are expressed in online discourses. Using the methodological approach of corpus-assisted onomastics (CAO), this study incorporates onomastics, geographical information systems (GIS), and corpus linguistics. Palīgteikumu veidi ceļojumu emuāros

Dotais pētījums apskata palīgteikumu lietojumu ceļojumu emuāros, kuru aktualitāti nosaka digitālo mediju popularitāte un viegli pieejami ceļojumi. Paraugi pētījumam tika ievākti no ceļojumu emuāriem un analizēti saskaņā ar apskatīto teoriju par palīgteikumiem. Teorētiskais pārskats definē trīs izteiktus palīgteikumu veidus. Pētījuma rezultāti norāda, ka analizētajos tekstos visbiežāk izmantotais palīgteikuma tips ir laika un nosacījuma apstākļa palīgteikums, jo, izmantojot tos, autori apraksta savu ceļojumu apstākļus. Īpaši rūpīgi tiek aprakstīti laiks un alternatīvas. Pētījums arī vērš uzmanību uz to, ka dažādas palīgteikumu lietojuma tendences ceļojumu emuāros

Pakārtojuma palīgteikumu lietojums Projekta vadības institūta situāciju izpētē

Pētījumā tiek izskatīts pakārtojuma palīgteikumu lietojums Projektu vadības institūta situāciju izpētēs. No ekonomikas viedokļa situāciju izpēte ir plaši pētīta, tomēr reti kad tiek izmantota lingvistiskā perspektīva. Pētījuma teorētiskā daļa tiek vērsta uz pakārtojuma palīgteikumu klasificēšanu grupās balstītās uz noteikto un nenoteikto darbības vārdu lietojumu. Pētījuma rezultāti parāda, ka projekta vadības gadījumu izpētē nenoteiktie palīgteikumi ir lietoti biežāk, tā kā tie dokumentos nodrošina lielāku blīvumu un koherenci. Tie arī norāda, ka noteikto un nenoteikto pakārtojuma palīgteikumu izmantošana ievērojami atšķiras dažādās to apakšgrupās, dažiem no tiem uzrādot ļoti stabilu esamīb…

PurposeThis paper discusses the challenges that two doctoral researchers faced while researching religious minorities and women in a culturally sensitive society such as Pakistan. Their shared interest in sensitive topics related to gender and minorities in Pakistan led both researchers to collaborate in this study to provide a better understanding of issues in qualitative research in the same research context.
