Thickness Dependence of Random Field Distribution in Thin Films Made of Disordered Ferroelectrics

Abstract We present the calculation of first moment E 0 and variance ΔE of distribution function of random fields in a ferroelectric of finite size. Specific calculations have been performed for the case of slab-shaped ferroelectric thin film. We have shown that E 0 and ΔE can be expressed through the integrals from first and second degree of Green's function of ferroelectric in k-space. To obtain the Green's function, we solve the differential equation minimizing Landau free energy of a ferroelectric with respect to the boundary conditions on its surfaces. We show that both E 0 and ΔE depend on film thickness L.
Growth, percolation, and correlations in disordered fiber networks

This paper studies growth, percolation, and correlations in disordered fiber networks. We start by introducing a 2D continuum deposition model with effective fiber-fiber interactions represented by a parameter $p$ which controls the degree of clustering. For $p=1$, the deposited network is uniformly random, while for $p=0$ only a single connected cluster can grow. For $p=0$, we first derive the growth law for the average size of the cluster as well as a formula for its mass density profile. This paper describes the prototyping algorithm developed for retrieving the Fraction of Absorbed Photosynthetically Active Radiation (FAPAR) using MSG data in the framework of satellite application facility on land surface analysis (LSA SAF). The prototyping relies on the Roujean and Breon (1995) method, which is based on simulations of visible and near infrared reflectance values in an optimal geometry. Metastable oxygen atom velocity and temperature in supersonic CO2plasma expansions

Radial and axial velocity distribution functions of metastable oxygen atoms were obtained by way of resonant laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy at 777.19 nm in rarefied supersonic plasma jets produced from pure CO2 and CO2–N2 gas mixtures. The N2 seeded fraction is 3% in volume in order to mimic the Martian atmosphere composition. The measured lineshapes allow computation of the mean radial velocity and the perpendicular temperature, with respect to the jet axis, as well as the mean axial velocity and the parallel temperature. A lattice-Boltzmann equation (LBE) is the discrete counterpart of a continuous kinetic model. It can be derived using a Hermite polynomial expansion for the velocity distribution function.
