EUROMEDITERRANEAN BIOMEDICAL JOURNAL: THE RENEWED MANUSCRIPT LAYOUT AND WEB RENDERING FORESHADOW FURTHER JOURNAL IMPROVEMENT

2017

In January 2006, a new journal, Capsula Eburnea, was born into the Italian scientific publishing scene with the initial goal of creating, at the same time, “an open scientific forum and a blog”, based on the premise that “in medicine, nothing should be considered stable, immutable or unsusceptible to critical review at any time, by any scientist”. The Editorial Team progressively sought to improve the quality of the manuscripts published, introducing the requirement for all articles to be written in English, and changed the Journal’s name to EuroMediterranean Biomedical Journal in 2012. Students' experiences in different forms of support during doctoral studies

2011

Doctoral student experience has been seen to have impact on study satisfaction and further the successful degree completion. Earlier research suggests that students need different forms of support during their studies. Therefore, this study investigates how different forms of support effect on doctoral students' experience in progress, particularly in experienced progress in research. The study was conducted in one Department of Industrial Engineering and Management in Finland. The quantitative data (N=64) was collected for the study. The results indicate that only network and peer support has a positive effect on students' experienced progress in research.

Health Querying in the Digital Era. The Language of Health 2.0

2015

This book deals with the linguistic resources used in e-heath, in particular in the dialogue between specialists and e-patients as well as among users in e-forums. Traditional d/p exchanges have self-adapted to create new forms, and have evolved into a different product entirely. After establishing the area within the concept of e-health and the reasons why it is important to talk about this phenomenon, the book reports some analyses that show different aspects of these online exchanges. Starting from genre, linguistic features and dialogic markers, it continues on considerations on role postions and credibility as well as on legitimation of trust.
