de-Linkability: a Privacy-Preserving Constraint for Safely Outsourcing Multimedia Documents
2013
International audience; Outsourcing social multimedia documents is a growing practice among several companies in a way to shift their business globally. It is a cost-effective process where those companies tend to gain more profits disregarding eventual privacy risks. In fact, several case studies have showed that adversaries are capable of identify-ing individuals, whose identities need to be kept private, using the content of their multimedia documents. In this paper, we propose de-linkability, a privacy-preserving constraint to bound the amount of information outsourced that can be used to re-identify the in-dividual. We also provide a sanitizing MD * -algorithm to enforce de-linkability…
Enhancing scientific information systems with semantic annotations
2013
International audience; Scientific Information Systems aim to produce or improve knowledge on a subject through activities of research and development. The management of scientific dat a requires some essential properties. We propose SemLab an architecture that sup ports interoperability, data quality and extensibility through a unique paradigm: semantic annotation. We present two app lications that validate our architecture.
Pop-Up Windows and Information Retrieval
1997
Communication affichée; International audience; Paralinguistics organizers such as parenthesis, footnotes, and pop-up fields on screen, should play an important role signalling the writer's “minimization” intention when secondary points are concerned. This experiment investigated the role of pop-up fields compared to brackets in an information retrieval task. The results showed that, in this kind of task, putting secondary pieces of information into pop-up fields significantly speeded the search process compared to a condition in which the same information was displayed in brackets.
Comment concevoir des documents électroniques favorisant l'apprentissage ?
2007
Assessment of Researchers Through Bibliometric Indicators: The Area of Information and Library Science in Spain as a Case Study (2001–2015)
2018
Research activities are subject to constant processes of evaluation, which increasingly include the use of bibliometric indicators to support decision-making. This paper presents a model for the individual evaluation of different facets of researchers' work and discusses the interest in using “control” parameters to identify deviations suggesting inappropriate conduct. The proposed model is illustrated through an empirical example that analyzes the activity of Spanish researchers in the area of Library and Information Science. There are important differences among the most productive authors, and in many cases, there is no association between the degree of participation in high-impact journ…

I Tesori delle chiese di Petralia Soprana
2016
The volume is dedicated to jewels, silver liturgical furni…
