How do young offenders describe their parents?

The study examined (1) what dimensions of parenting would emerge from retrospective reports of parental behaviour, and (2) whether childhood family violence and parental problems are associated with later perceptions of parenting among 89 young male Finnish inmates. The inmates completed the Parent Behaviour Inventory (PBI) and the Conflict Tactics Scales (CTS). Data on childhood family violence and parental problems were obtained from two files. The PBI yielded three factors and the CTS two factors for both mothers and fathers. This study compares the division of domestic work among dual-career and other dual-earner couples. We examine whether gender attitudes, relative resources and working time explain the differences between dual-career and other dual-earner couples. We define dual-career couples as those in which both spouses are professionals and/or managers. The division of housework is important for these couples because of the intense pressures of work. We hypothesise that domestic work is more equally shared among dual-career couples than among other dual-earner couples. Ābeles ir komerciāli nozīmīgs kultūraugs visā pasaulē, bet ik gadu nozīmīgus bojājumus rada patogēnās sēnes Venturia inaequalis izraisītais ābeļu kraupis. Kraupja ierobežošana pārsvarā balstīta uz intensīvu un regulāru pesticīdu izmantošanu, tādējādi radot negatīvu ietekmi uz vidi un cilvēku veselību. Alternatīva ir izveidot kraupja rezistentas ābeļu šķirnes. Jau novērots, ka monogēna rezistence pret kraupi nav ilgnoturīga un to varētu uzlabot, iekļaujot vairākus rezistences gēnus vienā auga genotipā jeb gēnus piramidējot. This chapter investigates the institutional and affective practices of domestic violence (DV) interventions in Finnish social work. It examines the expression of social workers’ emotions related to intervening in DV and how these expressions result in the positioning of clients. Encountering and intervening in DV is often challenging; ideological presumptions, conceptions, gender-neutral discussions and misrecognition of violence affect institutional arrangements and practices, and the ways in which professionals feel about and respond to violence. Use of Biostimulants for Organic Apple Production: Effects on Tree Growth, Yield, and Fruit Quality at Harvest and During Storage

The experiment was conducted during two consecutive seasons (years 2016 and 2017) in an organic apple orchard of the cultivar Jonathan. Several biostimulants were tested (10 in total), including humic acids, macro and micro seaweed extracts, alfalfa protein hydrolysate, amino acids alone or in combination with zinc, B-group vitamins, chitosan and a commercial product containing silicon. Treatments were performed at weekly intervals, starting from the end of May until mid-August.
