First World War Diaries: Making the Private Public

This article analyses several World War I Diaries written by soldiers on the Front. Starting with the circumstances of publication and their effects on the text, the article addresses the passage of these very private texts into public life, before turning to the role played by the diaries for the soldiers who write them. Studies of the diary as a genre are used to show how war diaries fit into the more general genre. Finally the article turns to the reception of these works, by studying what part literary distance may play for the soldiers keeping a diary, and by arguing that the task of making sense of these texts has been transferred to present-day readers.

En aquest article es proposa un nou sistema híbrid de ràdio sobre fibra (RoF) i òptica d’espai lliure (FSO) basat en la transmissió de senyals òptics OFDM (OOFDM) per proporcionar enllaços de comunicació sense fils òptics d’alta capacitat. Es proposa un esquema de transmissió de baix cost basat en IM-DD per simplificar i reutilitzar la infraestructura existent per desplegar un enllaç FSO d’alt ample de banda. Abstract Many studies reported various relationships between 2000-m rowing performance and anthropometric as well as metabolic variables, however, little is known about 60-s mean power in elite youth athletes. The aim of this study was to develop different regression models to predict 2000-m rowing indoor performance time (t2000) using anthropometric variables, maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) and mean power established during a 60-s all-out test (W60) in national elite youth rowers.
