Crustal controls on light noble gas isotope variability along the andean volcanic arc

This study combines new noble gas data from fluid inclusions in minerals from Sabancaya, Ubinas, and El Misti (CVZ, Peru) and Villarica (South Chile, SVZ) with a revised noble gas compilation in the Andes, to identify systematic along arc variations in helium isotope compositions. We find 3He/4He ratios varying from 8.8 RA (Colombia) to 7.4 RA (Ecuador) within the NVZ, and only as high as 6.4 RA in the CVZ (RA is the atmospheric 3He/4He ratio of 1.39 × 10–6). Understanding soil erosion processes in the Ecuadorian Andes with a tropical wet-dry climate and a variable topography, is fundamental for research on agriculture sustainable, environmental management, as well as for a stable water supply for the local populations. This work proposes method to estimate soil erosion risk in the semiarid Catamayo basin with limited data. The results show that the rainfall distribution and the erosivity along with the rugged topography, followed by the land cover (C-factor), are the most important factors to estimate soil erosion risk. From several gnathostome species the complete internal transcribed spacer ITS-2 ribosomal DNA (rDNA) repeat sequence and a fragment of the 5.8S rDNA were obtained by direct polymerase chain reaction cycle-sequencing and silver-staining methods. The size of the complete ITS-1 sequence in agarose gel electrophoresis was also obtained. Trynocoris lawrencei Herring, the only representative of the genus Trynocoris and only known from Barro Colorado Island, Canal Zone, Panama, is recorded for the first time from Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama: Chinqui and Ecuador. Redescription of the genus and species are given along with color photographs of the adults, scanning electron micrographs of selected structures of T. lawrencei. Illustrations of the tarsi and male genitalia are presented for the first time.

El artículo analiza la migración de cualificados españoles a los espacios de Educación Superior ecuatoriana desde 2010 a 2016, con el objetivo de entender la experiencia de movilidad cualificada española hacia Ecuador. Para ello se ha utilizado una metodología cualitativa a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas a españoles y ecuatorianos que trabajan en los espacios de la Educación Superior. Además, se ha complementado con encuestas online autoadministradas y con observación participante.
