Il contributo avvia una riflessione sul concetto di generatività ripercorrendone la storia. Oltre agli studi più noti di E.H. Erikson, il concetto di generatività occupa una posizione cruciale per alcuni studiosi di area relazionale-simbolico che lo intendono come un costrutto essenzialmente relazionale; si tratta del valore della relazione tra le generazioni. Physical activity (PA) during childhood plays an important role in brain development. This role is played in both the structural domain, prefrontal cortex area, and in the functional domain, involving the higher cognitive functions, including the executive functions (EF). Working memory (WM), inhibition, and switching as fundamental EF were investigated in an Italian children sample before and after four months of an Enriched Sports Activities-Program (ESA-Program). EFs were assessed at pre-test and post-test using, respectively, the digit span test, the color word Stroop test, and the trail making test derived from Millisecond Software. The essay offers a definition of the kind of manuscript which might have been employed for instructional purposes in late Anglo-Saxon England. The work is based on a complete survey of the content of the Anglo-Saxon manuscripts dating from the tenth to the twelfth century; a full list of such mss is provided in the Appendix. The educational texts in use in the Middle Ages generally occurred within a distinctive category of miscellaneous codices. The sixth principle of the Charte de la Ligue Internationale de l’Education Nouvelle of 1921 emphasizes the concept of coeducation. The definition of this concept provides interesting insights to launch a proactive debate on the need to increase the male presence in primary school teaching staff. First of all, some results of empir- ical research that support the request to increase the number of male teachers in the primary school are displayed. Secondly, the most significant measures adopted by some States to promote the figure of the male primary school teacher are described. Finally, a few proposals are made on what could be done in Italy.
