Abstract Recent studies have given incentives to physics departments around the world to revise the learning goals of their lab courses to emphasize experimentation skills over reinforcing lecture content. Evaluation instruments have been developed to measure the achievement of learning goals, and one such instrument is the Physics Lab Inventory of Critical thinking (PLIC). Tarkastelemme artikkelissamme käsitteellisen ajattelun kehittymistä ilmiölähtöisessä oppimiskontekstissa yliopisto-opintojen alkuvaiheessa. Tutkimuksen kohteena olivat Jyväskylän yliopiston kasvatustieteiden perusopintojen Vuorovaikutus ja yhteistyö -kurssin opiskelijoiden laajat luentopäiväkirjat ja esseet. Näissä teksteissä opintojaksolla käsiteltyjä teoreettisia vuorovaikutusilmiöitä peilattiin omiin kokemuksiin tai käytännön esimerkkeihin. The concept “mathematical thinking” can be found in several studies of mathematics education, in national curricula or in media during the decades all over the world. We searched words “mathematical thinking” from the database of international scientific articles, and we found 456 707 mentions at first time. These are the main reasons why we have chosen “mathematical thinking” as the central concept of the Special Issue. Luokanopettajaopiskelijat tekstien tuottajina yhden yliopistovuoden aikana

Tässä artikkelissa tarkastellaan luokanopettajaopiskelijoiden (n=54) kuvauksia tekstien tuottamisesta heidän ensimmäisen yliopistovuotensa aikana. Tutkimusaineistona olivat opiskelijoiden vastaukset lomakekyselyyn heidän ensimmäisenä ja toisena opiskeluvuotenaan. Tutkimusaineisto analysoitiin aineistolähtöisen sisällönanalyysin ja kvantifioinnin avulla. Opiskelijat kielensivät tuottaneensa ensimmäisen opiskeluvuotensa aikana 102 erilaista tekstiä. Heidän tieteellisten tekstien tuottamisen kuvauksistaan hahmotettiin kirjoittajaminään ja tekstin tuottamisen osataitoihin (tekstilaji-, prosessi-, tekniset ja ajattelun taidot) liittyvät näkökulmat.
