Sensitizer exchange dynamics in air and solvent filled semiconductor nanocavities

Multiple dye binding sites and their exchange in equilibrium in air and solvent filled sensitized titanium oxide nanocavities were identified by 2DIR spectroscopy. Binding geometry and flexibility may influence electron injection efficiency of solar cells.

Solution behavior of ethylcellulose in organic solvents

Ethylcellulose has been investigated by osmotic pressure, sedimentation-diffusion, and light scattering measurements in dilute solutions of acetone, ethylacetate, 2-butanol, n-butylchloride, and benzene. Combining the results of different measuring techniques allowed the recognition and elimination of the influence of microgels present in the solution. The observed second virial coefficients are high as compared with those of the vinyl polymers and do not show a pronounced dependence on the type of solvent. Die thermische diffusion von polystyrol in verschiedenen lösungsmitteln

Es wird uber Messungen von thermischen Diffusionskoeffizienten und LUDWIG-SORET-Koeffizienten von Polystyrol in den Losungsmitteln Toluol, Methylathylketon, Butylacetat und Cyclohexan berichtet. Es zeigte sich, das der rein thermisch bedingte Diffusionsprozes in Butylacetat und im Θ-Losungsmittel Cyclohexan unabhangig vom Molekulargewicht ist, wie as fur Toluol bereits fruher nachgewiesen werden konnte. Fur Methylathylketon wurde eine schwache, aber deutliche Abhangigkeit von D' vom Molekulargewicht zu D' ∼ M−0,12 gefunden. Wood is a complex structure of various macromolecules, mainly cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. Although the sorption process of some organic compounds by wood has been elucidated, the relative contribution of its different fractions in the sorption mechanism is not clearly determined. Certain works predict the amount of organic compounds sorbed on wood as a direct relationship to its lignin fraction. Exploratory Analysis of the Relations between Code Cloning and Open Source Software Quality

In recent literature there is still a lack of understanding how the reuse and cloning of software affects its quality. The focus of this study is to analyze the relationships between source code cloning and software quality for the case of open source software project forks (SPFs) as a kind of software reuse. In total 117 releases related to three generations of eight eMule SPFs were scrutinized. Software quality was measured in terms of internal quality attributes. An experimental study for the characterization of fluid dynamics and heat transport within the spacer-filled channels of membrane distillation modules

Abstract The thermo-fluid dynamic behavior of spacer-filled channels for membrane distillation was investigated experimentally. Several different geometry were investigated thanks to customized reference spacers manufactured using a 3D printer. In particular, two sets of experiments were conducted: in the first set, cylindrical filaments were orthogonally arranged and the flow attack angle was made to vary from 0o to 90o; in the second set, the flow attack angle was kept symmetrical and the filament angle was made to vary from 30° to 150°. Routing Algorithm for Maximizing Lifetime of Wireless Sensor Network for Broadcast Transmission

In the article we discuss solutions of the maximum lifetime broadcasting problem in wireless sensor networks. Due to limited energy resources of the network nodes to find an optimal transmission route of the broadcasted data we minimize the maximum energy consumed by the nodes. We give an analytical solution of the problem in one dimensional regular sensor network for the point-to-point and point-to-multipoint data transmission scheme.
