Herding in the cryptocurrency market: CSSD and CSAD approaches

Abstract We analyse the existence of herding in the cryptocurrency market through the cross-sectional standard (absolute) deviation of returns. Our results show that extreme dispersion of returns is explained by rational asset pricing models although it is possible to observe herding during down markets, which highlights the inefficiency and risk of cryptocurrencies. We also observe that the smallest digital currencies are herding with the largest ones, thus traders base their decisions on the performance of the main cryptocurrencies. However, the herding phenomenon cannot be solely attributed to Bitcoin, since the rest of the market is not herding with the main cryptocurrency.

ABSTRACT The influence of morphology, composition and crystallographic structure on the photoelectrochemical behaviour of anodic oxide films on tungsten obtained in various conditions of anodization has been investigated. Different photocurrent spectra and absorption edges were obtained for each type of film. Optical band gaps ranging between 2.55 eV and 3.15 eV were determined for crystalline and amorphous WO 3 films grown in different conditions. The low quantum efficiency of the anodic films must be attributed to the presence of an amorphous (a-W0 3 ) film which controls the transport of the injected photocarriers.

Among these, the three most important have been concerned with medical insurance, hospital administration, and pharmaceutical policies. The aims of these reforms were to extend health insurance coverage, to increase the activities and the efficiency of the health establishments, and to improve patient care. The aim of the present study was to assess the feasibility of a 3D tumor cell culture model, that is, multicellular tumor spheroids (MCTSs) as an adequate model for micrometastases and therefore as a pharmacological model for efficacy testing of trifunctional therapeutic antibodies. Unlike conventional monolayer cultures, spheroids allow researchers to study parameters, such as 3D cell shape, 3D cell arrangement and microenvironment, and penetration efficiency of defense cells that may largely influence the efficacy of antibody treatment in vivo. Abstract Filament-based dispensers of thorium have been investigated at the IGISOL facility, Jyvaskyla, for potential use as a thorium ion source for future collinear laser spectroscopy experiments. Several different filaments were manufactured in the Institute of Atomic and Subatomic Physics of TU Wien, with 232Th and 229Th prepared on tantalum substrates either by drying thorium nitrate solution or via molecular plating, while adding a layer of zirconium for oxide reduction. Aims: To finalize an effective and reproducible electroporation procedure to transform Oenococcus oeni ATCC BAA-1163 strain. Methods and Results: The vector pGID052 was selected to optimize the electroporation procedure. Transformation efficiency was 5·8 × 103 per μg of DNA. Transformation was improved when competent cells were prepared with exponential phase cultures; optimum electroporation parameters were an electric pulse of 12·5 kV cm−1, under a resistance of 200 Ω and the presence of 10% (v/v) ethanol in the electroporation buffer (EPB).
