In this chapter, I discuss corporate art collections as part of national cultural heritage and semi-public collections. Corporate art is seen through the lenses of collecting, various professions and corporate social responsibility (CSR). I highlight the motives and the meanings of visual art in the context of business and practices of collection development, with the similarities and differences to museums and the museum profession. The essence of corporate art collecting is connected with business objectives, and thus this field of collecting differs in many ways from the objectives of museum collections and ethics. Creating ‘Communities of Practice’ to Enhance Ecosocial Work : A Comparison between Finland and Australia

Abstract This article reports on findings from a small qualitative study in two industrialised countries—Finland and Australia, which aimed to engage social work practitioners in ‘communities of practice’ to collaboratively explore ecosocial work practice. Using a Participatory Action Research approach, a series of workshops were established to plan, implement and evaluate ecosocial work interventions. Data were gathered using qualitative pre- and post-surveys to examine changes to practice, including similarities and differences between Finnish and Australian practitioners. Tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvittää sosiaalihuollon päätöksistä vastaavien lautakuntien jäsenten käsityksiä sosiaalihuollon palveluista ja kokemuksia lautakuntatyöskentelystä Suomen kunnissa. Tutkielman empiirinen osuus toteutettiin Survey-kyselynä Internetissä Webropol-alustalla kesäkuussa 2016. Kyselyssä selvitettiin lautakuntatyössä toimivan luonnollisen henkilön näkemyksiä omasta sekä ryhmänsä lautakuntatyöskentelystä. Kyselyn kohderyhmäksi valikoitui arpomalla yhteensä 32 kuntaa tai kaupunkia, joissa oli yli 1000 mutta alle 100000 asukasta 31.12.2015. Ecosocial Innovations in Europe : How Social and Solidarity Economy Actors Can Promote the Sustainable Development Goals

This paper focuses on small-scale social and solidarity economy (SSE) actors for a transformation towards sustainable societies. These actors’ ecosocial innovations (ESIs) - for example, food cooperatives, reuse centres, and alternative mobility projects - successfully combine all dimensions of sustainability in new ecosocial practices. By inventing and establishing these practices on the local level, the ESIs promote Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 on employment and decent work, and also strengthen the implementation of other goals.
