Multi-criteria risk classification to enhance complex supply networks performance

2021

[EN] Management of complex supply networks is a fundamental business topic today. Especially in the presence of many and diverse stakeholders, identifying and assessing those risks having a potential negative impact on the performance of supply processes is of utmost importance and, as a result, implementing focused risk management actions is a current lively field of research. The possibility of supporting Supply Chain Risks Management (SCRM) is herein explored from a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM)-based perspective. The sorting method ELimination Et Choix Traduisant la REalite (ELECTRE) TRI is proposed as a structural procedure to classify Supply Chain Risks (SCRs) into proper risk…

The ELECTRE I method to optimise GPR data processing analyses for maintenance of water networks

2017

Management of water supply systems (WSSs) can be effectively pursued by means of data processing techniques based on Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) image mining. This approach enables to collect different graphical representations of WSS buried elements on the basis of which planning maintenance interventions, with the objective of improving the overall condition of the system. This paper proposes to support this kind of techniques by means of a multi criteria decision making (MCDM) point of view. In particular, the ELECTRE I method is suggested to treat results coming from the application of different techniques. A real case study is applied with relation to a set of four alternatives, whi…

Insight in NLO Polymer Material Behavior from Langevin Dynamic Modeling of Chromophore Poling

2011

Calculation of chromophore polar order, i.e. the polarization of nonlinear optically (NLO) active polymers poled by external field, is challenging. One possible solution is to reproduce the orientation polarization of chromophores under external field using Langevin dynamics (LD) molecular modeling. The present work investigates the influence of chromophore dipole moment, density and field extent on NLO efficiency and polarization/relaxation dynamics. Results of simulations convince us, that the method is applicable for modeling real NLO polymers. In the spotlight of this investigation we would like to describe a NLO polymer as a “ferrofluid” where chromophores are active particles or elect…

Multi-objective human resources allocation in R&D projects planning

2009

In a R&D department, several projects may have to be implemented simultaneously within a certain period of time by a limited number of human resources with diverse skills. This paper proposes an optimisation model for the allocation of multi-skilled human resources to R&D projects, considering individual workers as entities having different knowledge, experience and ability. The model focuses on three fundamental aspects of human resources: the different skill levels, the learning process and the social relationships existing in working teams. The resolution approach for the multi-objective problem consists of two steps: firstly, a set of non-dominated solutions is obtained by exploring the…
