Incorporating spatial structure and stochasticity in endangered Bonelli’s eagle’s population models: implications for conservation and management

Population models have played a chief role informing management decisions for the endangered Bonelli’s eagle (Aquila fasciata) in Spain. In this paper, we incorporate spatial structure and stochasticity in the construction of individual-based metapopulation models, and use these models to explore the effects of possible management actions on the persistence of the species in Spain. To build the models we used data on seven sub-populations that have experienced different trends in the last decades, and we introduced new estimates of pre-adult survival rate. New Technique in Tendon Sport Recovery. Percutaneous Electrolysis Intratissue (EPI®)

Based on the literature and clinical experience we know that the technique of percutaneous electrolysis intratissue (EPI ® ) has positive effects on the recovery of human tendinopathies. The application of the technique, together with the completion of eccentric exercise, give benefits leading to anatomical and functional recovery in the tendon that can be appreciated by ultrasound using the scale of "Victorian Institute of Sport Assessment-patellar tendon" (VISA-P). Electrocution is a serious conservation problem worldwide for a large number of bird species (BEVANGER, 1994, 1998; BIRDLIFE INTERNATIONAL, 2004; PRINSEN et al., 2011). Due to its wide extension, it is necessary to seek methods that optimize the identification of the most dangerous pylons (JANSS and FERRER, 2001; MANOSA, 2001), lines and the highest risk areas (TINTÓ et al., 2010; GUIL et al., 2011). Forensic tools for the diagnosis of electrocution death: Case study and literature review

Diagnosis of death by electrocution may be difficult when electric marking is not visible or unclear. Accordingly, the body of a man who appeared to have died from accidental electrocution was carefully forensically analysed. Macroscopic and microscopic analysis of the current mark was carried out using a variable-pressure scanning electron microscope equipped with energy dispersive X-ray microanalyser to highlight skin metallisation, indicating the presence of iron and zinc.
