Supersymmetric Extension of Technicolor & Fermion Mass Generation

2012

We provide a complete extension of Minimal Walking Technicolor able to account for the standard model fermion masses. The model is supersymmetric at energies greater or equal to the technicolor compositeness scale. We integrate out, at the supersymmetry breaking scale, the elementary Higgses. We use the resulting four-fermion operators to derive the low energy effective theory. We then determine the associated tree-level vacuum and low energy spectrum properties. Furthermore we investigate the phenomenological viability of the model by comparing its predictions with electroweak precision tests and experimental bounds on the mass spectrum. We then turn to the composite Higgs phenomenology at…

Custodial vector model

2014

We analyze the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) phenomenology of heavy vector resonances with a $SU(2)_L\times SU(2)_R$ spectral global symmetry. This symmetry partially protects the electroweak S-parameter from large contributions of the vector resonances. The resulting custodial vector model spectrum and interactions with the standard model fields lead to distinct signatures at the LHC in the diboson, dilepton and associated Higgs channels.

Physics at the Large Hadron Collider

2003

Abstract The experiments at the Large Hadron Collider LHC have a large discovery potential for physics beyond the Standard Model and in the investigation of the nature of electroweak symmetry breaking. The large event rates provided by the high luminosity LHC machine will, however, also allow to perform precision measurements of important Standard Model parameters. Both the discovery potential for new physics and the measurements of Standard Model parameters are summarized in the present paper.

The two-loop supersymmetric corrections to lepton anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments

2006

Using the effective Lagrangian method, we analyze the electroweak corrections to the anomalous dipole moments of lepton from some special two-loop topological diagrams which are composed of neutralino (chargino) - slepton (sneutrino) in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model (MSSM). Considering the translational invariance of the inner loop momenta and the electromagnetic gauge invariance, we get all dimension 6 operators and derive their coefficients. After applying equations of motion to the external leptons, the anomalous dipole moments of lepton are obtained. The numerical results imply that there is a parameter space where the two-loop supersymmetric corrections to …

Collider probes of axion-like particles.

2017

Axion-like particles (ALPs), which are gauge-singlets under the Standard Model (SM), appear in many well-motivated extensions of the SM. Describing the interactions of ALPs with SM fields by means of an effective Lagrangian, we discuss ALP decays into SM particles at one-loop order, including for the first time a calculation of the $a\to\pi\pi\pi$ decay rates for ALP masses below a few GeV. We argue that, if the ALP couples to at least some SM particles with couplings of order $(0.01-1) \mbox{TeV}^{-1}$, its mass must be above 1 MeV. Taking into account the possibility of a macroscopic ALP decay length, we show that large regions of so far unconstrained parameter space can be explored by se…

Observation of electroweak W±Z boson pair production in association with two jets in pp collisions at s=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

2019

An observation of electroweak W±Z production in association with two jets in proton–proton collisions is presented. The data collected by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider in 2015 and 2016 at a centre-of-mass energy of s=13 TeV are used, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1fb−1 . Events containing three identified leptons, either electrons or muons, and two jets are selected. The electroweak production of W±Z bosons in association with two jets is measured with an observed significance of 5.3 standard deviations. A fiducial cross-section for electroweak production including interference effects and for a single leptonic decay mode is measured to be σWZjj−EW=0.57−0…

Long-range parity violating interaction in muonic atoms

1980

Abstract Long-range parity violating forces are induced in muonic atoms by virtual γ−Z 0 conversion between the muon and the nucleus. They are of order G F α with range (2 m e ) −1 . The relevant diagrams in unified electroweak interactions are calculated and the effects of the corresponding potential on parity admixtures in muonic levels are studied. It is proved that they are negligible for n = 3 orbits, but they have overwhelmed the conventional short-range contribution for n = 5.
