Tarsius tumpara: A New Tarsier Species from Siau Island, North Sulawesi

Abstract: A new, critically endangered species of tarsier, one of the world's 25 most endangered primates, is described from the remote island of Siau, North Sulawesi, based on distinguishing characteristics of the tail tuft, pelage coloration, skull, and vocalizations. Siau is part of the Sangihe Island chain, a volcanic arc composed of islands that rise from the ocean floor. There is a single previous record of a tarsier from Siau; a skull in the Dresden Museum that Meyer (1897) classified with tarsiers from Sangihe Island as Tarsius sangirensis. Se comunican nuevas localidades, o se precisa la ubicación de antiguas citas, de diversas plantas vasculares consideradas raras o amenazadas en el conjunto de la flora del Macizo del Penyagolosa, la mayoría presentes en el municipio de Vistabella del Maestrat (Castellón). Se aportan datos poblacionales de algunas especies amenazadas para contribuir al seguimiento de su estado de conservación. Neolentinus cyathiformis (Schaeff.) Della Maggiora & Trassinelli (Gloeophyllaceae, Gloeophyllales, Agaricomycetes) to rzadki grzyb, który na aktualnej Czerwonej liście grzybów wielkoowocnikowych w Polsce posiada kategorię gatunku wymierającego E. Pomimo szerokiego zasięgu (Europa, Azja, Ameryka Południowa) jego stanowiska są nieliczne. W Polsce do tej pory znanych było 20 stanowisk tego gatunku, w tym zaledwie dwa w północnej części kraju. W pracy przedstawiono przegląd informacji na temat występowania widłaczka torfowego Lycopodiella inundata (L.) Holub oraz opisano nowe stanowiska zlokalizowane w stawach hodowlanych na Śląsku. W Polsce gatunek ten należy do bardzo rzadkich składników flory. W trakcie przeprowadzonych badań stwierdzony został na tym obszarze na 8 stanowiskach. Zagrożeniem dla taksonu na Śląsku, jak i w Europie jest postępująca sukcesja roślinności na stanowiskach.

W pracy przedstawiono przegląd informacji na temat występowania żabieńca trawolistnego Alisma gramineum Lej. oraz omówiono nowe stanowiska zlokalizowane w stawach hodowlanych południowo-zachodniej Polski. W Polsce gatunek ten należy do bardzo rzadkich składników flory. Większość z około 120 dotychczas znanych jego stanowisk pochodzi z XIX lub pierwszej połowy XX w. Obecnie gatunek ten znany jest z około 30 stanowisk, z czego 2 znajdują się w południowo-zachodniej Polsce. W trakcie obecnych badań stwierdzony został na tym obszarze w stawach hodowlanych na 5 nowych stanowiskach – 3 znajdują się na Dolnym Śląsku, a 2 na Śląsku Opolskim. Pulsed flow-through cultivation of Margaritifera margaritifera : effects of water source and food quantity on the survival and growth of juveniles

AbstractConservation of the endangered freshwater pearl mussel (FPM) includes artificially rearing juveniles, but the pulsed flow-through (PFT) method, enabling the continuous renewal of water and food in culture containers, has not been applied to FPM. This study tested the PFT method in culture of FPM juveniles, and the effect of water source (tap vs well water) and food concentration (mixture of commercial phytoplankton products) on the survival and growth of juveniles. Beaker-specific survival rates varied from 0 to 100% (mean: 34%) and from 0 to 58% (mean: 16%) in the 1st (2-week) and 2nd (10-week) experiment, respectively.
