The paper focuses on the evaluation of the impact on residential buildings of innovative control logics defined for a rational utilization of the electric loads and air-conditioning systems. The control logics are implementable thanks to a Decision Support and Energy Management Systems developed by the same authors and easily installable in new and still-existing houses. Domestic demand prediction is very important for home energy management system and also for peak reduction in power system network. In this work, active and reactive power consumption prediction model is developed and analysed for a typical Southern Norwegian house for hourly power (active and reactive) consumptions and time information as inputs. Adaptive control of hybrid vehicle depending on driving cycle analysis

The most adapted energy management in hybrid electric vehicles depends on the current driving situation. This paper describes a novel control strategy based on driving cycle recognition. A Driving Cycle Recognition Algorithm (DCRA) is firstly presented. It allows recognition between three driving modes: urban, suburban and highway. A real-time control strategy is then defined based on fuzzy logic using DCRA. Results are presented and compared to fuzzy logic controllers parametrized for urban or highway cycles.
The BAC factor method: Application to a real Italian not-residential building

The paper focuses the evaluation of the impact of Building Automation Control (BAC) systems on not-residential buildings. In particular, this work shows how the control, monitoring and automation actions considered by the European Standard EN 15232 can influence the electric and thermal energy consumptions of the University of Palermo DEIM (Department of Energy, Information Engineering and Mathematical Models) building. After evaluating the building energy consumptions, by using the CEI Guide 205-18, the BAC systems are chosen and sized and an economic evaluation of their installation cost is also carried out.
