Aim: A woman in denial of pregnancy is pregnant but remains unaware of her gravid state. In the case of a false pregnancy; the woman is not pregnant but believes she is and presents signs and symptoms of pregnancy. These syndromes correspond to opposite contradictions that were mainly explored separately. Our aim is to explain them by a common and consistent etiology. The article deals with an autobiographical representation of diverse experiences. Namely, through the analysis of post-Soviet Latvian autobiographies the framing of the Soviet and Post-Soviet era is revealed. The article suggests that instead of using progressive fame, which might give a positive estimation of the Post-Soviet experience, the autobiographers largely employ a nostalgic frame and continuation frame. This qualitative research study depicts the main categories obtained by means of an inductive methodology based on the content analysis of 8 interviews using the N’Vivo program. The sample consisted of 8 men (between 26 and 45 years) who had passed a competitive examination. We take into consideration whether this life event and its related transition is an example of a contemporary rite of passage. We focus on changes reported by the subjects once the developmental transition was over. These changes are related to new social identities. The most relevant psychological and structural processes in order to get this kind of optimal changes are also discussed.
The influence of personal and social identity on the clothing consumption of adolescents

We consider the influence of personal and social identity among adolescents on the importance they attach to clothing products and brands. The conceptual framework includes more conventional variables such as socialization (family, peers, media, and celebrities) and individual characteristics (gender and grade level). Based on a sample of 1,596 French high school adolescents, our results highlight: (i) the influence of identity on the importance attached to product and brand; (ii) the mediating effects of personal and social identities; and (iii) the moderating effects of gender and grade level. The anti-hero of these narratives is the mass-foreigner, a stereotyped version of the foreigner usually depicted, alternatively or cumulatively, as an enemy or as a parasite of host societies.
