Artikkeli selvittää COVID-19-pandemian ajallisia ja intersubjektiivisia ulottuvuuksia eksistentiaalisen fenomenologian näkökulmasta. Teoreettisena lähtökohtana ovat erityisesti Martin Heideggerin ja Jean-Paul Sartren ajallisuuden ja autenttisuuden analyysit sekä Edmund Husserlin kuvaus uskomuksista pidättäytymisestä (epokhē). Esitän, että pandemian alkuvaiheen erityislaatuinen ajallinen ulottuvuus liittyy maailmavarmuuden järkkymiseen ja elämän haurauden kohtaamiseen. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli analysoida sitä, onko työttömyys vai työn koettu epävarmuus haitallisempaa terveydelle. Tutkimus perustuu Tilastokeskuksen vuonna 1994 tekemään Elinolotutkimukseen ajautuen työikäisiin, 25-55-vuotiaisiin palkansaajiin ja työttömiin (N = 3 5 70). Vertailua varten sekä työttömät että palkansaajat jaettiin kolmeen ryhmään; työttömillä kriteerinä oli työttömyyden kesto, palkansaajilla työssä koettujen epävarmuustekijöiden määrä. Job Insecurity and Depressive Symptoms in Mothers and Adolescents: A Dyadic Study

AbstractIn this study, we examined whether maternal perceived job insecurity (JI) affected depressive symptoms in their adolescent children. Specifically, we tested a mediator-moderator model in which we hypothesized that maternal JI was related to adolescent depressive symptoms indirectly via maternal depressive symptoms. Most importantly, we also explored whether this indirect path was moderated by two buffering resources, i.e., maternal off-job recovery and adolescent self-esteem. This work-in-progress paper in research category reports preliminary findings on how students taking introductory computing courses develop identity from the perspective of study difficulties. The motivation was that students identified lack of meaning and prospects (cf. identity) as a study difficulty in a previous qualitative study.
