The purpose of this paper is to analyze the role of figurative speech in Medical English paying special attention to the use of metaphors in medical discourse. Eponīmu attīstība medicīnas terminoloģijā

Šajā bakalaura darbā aplūkots eponīmu lietojums medicīnas terminoloģijā. Darba mērķis bija izpētīt eponīmu tipus un to attīstību laika gaitā. Teorētiskā daļa veido pamatu pētījumam un sniedz informāciju par terminoloģijas attīstību vispār, it īpaši par medicīnas terminoloģiju, populārākajiem tās terminu darināšanas veidiem, kā arī par eponīmiem un to iedalījumu. Pētījums aptver simts nejauši izraudzītus terminus no trim dažādām medicīnas eponīmu vārdnīcām un to analīzi, kā arī informāciju par šo terminu izcelsmi un darināšanas metodi.
