The electron and Occam's razor

2017

This paper introduces a Zitterbewegung (ZBW) model of the electron by applying the principle of Occam’s razor to Maxwell’s equations and by introducing a scalar component in the electromagnetic field. The aim is to explain, by using simple and intuitive concepts, the origin of the electric charge and the electromagnetic nature of mass and inertia. A ZBW model of the electron is also proposed as the best suited theoretical framework to study the structure of Ultra-Dense Deuterium (UDD), the origin of anomalous heat in metal–hydrogen systems and the possibility of existence of “super-chemical” aggregates at Compton scale.

Maxwell’s Equations and Occam’s Razor

In this paper a straightforward application of Occam’s razor principle to Maxwell’s equation shows that only one entity, the electro-magnetic four-potential, is at the origin of a plurality of concepts and entities in physics. The application of the so called “Lorenz gauge” in Maxwell’s equations denies the status of real physical entity to a scalar field that has a gradient in space-time with clear physical meaning: the four-current density field. The mathematical formalism of space-time Clifford algebra is introduced and then used to encode Maxwell’s equations starting only from the electromagnetic four-potential. Electron structure, ultra-dense hydrogen and low energy nuclear reactions

In this paper, a simple Zitterbewegung electron model, proposed in a previous work, is presented from a different perspective based on the principle of mass- frequency equivalence. A geometric- electromagnetic interpretation of mass, relativistic mass, De Broglie wavelength, Proca, Klein- Gordon, Dirac and Aharonov- Bohm equations in agreement with the model is proposed. A non-relativistic, Zitterbewegung interpretation of the 3.7 keV deep hydrogen level found by J. Naudts is presented. The Italian version of the Cognitive Style Indicator and its association with decision-making preferences

By adopting a more flexible view, Cools and Van den Broeck (2007) developed the Cognitive Style Indicator (CoSI) which includes three cognitive dimensions: Creating (flexible, open-ended and inventive), Knowing (emphasizing facts, details, objectivity, and rationality), and Planning (guided by preferences for certainty and well-structured information). The study aimed to investigate the role of social activities, social networks as well as socioeconomic status (SES) in influencing some aspects of cognitive functioning (immediate and delayed verbal recall tests and semantic verbal fluency) in elderly people over time. Existence of two positive solutions for anisotropic nonlinear elliptic equations

This paper deals with the existence of nontrivial solutions for a class of nonlinear elliptic equations driven by an anisotropic Laplacian operator. In particular, the existence of two nontrivial solutions is obtained, adapting a two critical point results to a suitable functional framework that involves the anisotropic Sobolev spaces.

On the critical curve for systems of hyperbolic inequalities in an exterior domain of the half-space

We establish blow-up results for a system of semilinear hyperbolic inequalities in an exterior domain of the half-space. The considered system is investigated under an inhomogeneous Dirichlet-type boundary condition depending on both time and space variables. In certain cases, an optimal criterium of Fujita-type is derived. Our results yield naturally sharp nonexistence criteria for the corresponding stationary wave system and equation.
